Been at the doctor office all day. I got bad news today I have breast cancer. Devastating was not the outcome I have prayed for. I cried but the only thing that made me feel a little better that the mass was still contained In my breast and the doctor told me I have a very good chance. I have to go July 24 and have a portacath put in my chest so I can start chemo. Everybody on BCO have been so good to me, giving me so much good advice. encouraging words and helpful articles, you all was another reason for my strength. I was blessed the day I found this website. Thanks a million. I will keep all of you posted on my journey.

I'm sorry for your new diagnosis. Not what any of us want to hear, for sure. Hang in there. (I didn't love having my porto-cath but it sure was convenient during chemo, since I have terrible veins.)

Moderators Thank you for being here for me as well as for others. Now that the anxiety of not knowing is over I can start now on how to taking care of myself and getting my treatments and hopefully one day putting this all behind me. I was blessed when I found BCO. I found people who are going through the same thing that I am going through with. Everything that I wanted to know I have found it here I do not have to go anywhere else. I am gong to Breastcancer 101 now and I will keep you posted and again I appreciate you so much.

mustlovepoo thank you it was not what I wanted to hear. That what the doctors said a will be easier to for giving my chemo and drawing blood. I do not know what else I will have to need like radiation. The doctors did say the were going to give me some chemo before removing the mass but I will know more when I go back on July 24 to have the port put in. I will keep you posted and again thank you so much.

elisa, so sorry you had to join us, but you will get a lot of support here, as you already know! The port takes a little getting used to, but worth it! I felt much better mentally and emotionally once the treatment process started. Meanwhile, take care of yourself and don't be afraid to ask questions of your Dr's and on the forum. There is a lot to learn, but you will get through it! Best wishes:).
