My mri result

went to get my mri result today. The result is the same as my ultrasound result. The doctor said that the biopsy that the hospital ordered for me two days ago on my left breast is not even necessary. But they need to do surgical biopsy on my right like they told me before (which is fine)

The doctor said it most likely not cancer, it is just the procedure they need just in case they miss something.

My question is why the doctor called me to do unnecessary biopsy. Why do I even need an mri to begin with as the result is same as ultrasound.

My concern now still not about cancer but the test itself. This time is the sugerical biopsy to remove the entire cell, they need general anesthesia. I don't like the feeling of putting to sleep. What is the procedure like, anyone has similar experience? Does it hurt? How can I prepare? Can anyone share please? I'm kind of scare

Hi fishfish. I didn't have an excisional biopsy, but since I had cancer I had a similar procedure called a lumpectomy. I found the surgery not painful at all, but it was a long, long, long, often boring day waiting around. My advice would be to bring a good book, lots pf patience, and find a friend or family member to drive you home. You might also prepare by packing a bag with a shawl and extra socks since I found the pre-op room freezing! But you will be fine.

    All best wishes.
