Swelling

I had my double mastectomy three months ago and got real worried about fluid after my first drain came out. I was worried I would start to swell and wondered where fluid goes after the drains are out. I think it takes the body a little time to absorb all of the fluid and it felt tight for a day or too but somewhere I read on this forum that the drain itself make our bodies create fluid and once they are out less fluid is produced. Definitely get in touch with your doctor if it doesn't feel right though. I know that everyday there is a new worry and we need to be vigilant but looking back on it all I realize that most of my fears didn't come to fruition and although I'm not out of the woods it does get easier.
