    Hi jango786,

We're so sorry to hear your mom is experiencing this uncomfortable side effect of treatment. You may find it helpful to check out some tips to help manage fever on the main Breastcancer.org site's Side Effect: Fever page, which includes calling your mom's doctor if her fever reaches 103 or over, or if she has had the fever for 3 or more days consecutively.

We hope this helps and that she feels better soon!

Call her oncologist and ask about the fever situation before her next infusion. It's better to discuss her situation with the oncologist so you can get help. It is definitely okay to call the oncologist any time about her side effects. It is a team effort to help your Mom through chemo . Glad you are monitoring and helping her.

I had a few fevers after chemo. They say if it goes to 102 to go to ER. I had mine hit 102 but didn't go to ER. You may want to notify your doctor and see what he wants her to do.
