Has anyone gotten lymphadema on their non cancerous side?

I am noticing fluid buildup on the side of my right implant that goes into my underarm and towards the back of my bra. Last ultrasound and scan was clear. I do think wearing bra's is not helping. But I always thought you had to have lymph nodes removed in order to get lymphadema but apparently my lymphatic system is going to shit! Just curious if anyone else has noticed this? It is very mild and no one would even be able to tell but me.

I have edema in both arms (surgery side and non-surgery side) and also both legs. The hospital insists on calling it lymphedema where my nodes have been removed and edema otherwise, but they feel the same to me. I take a daily diuretic (Dyazide) which helps quite a bit.

    Hi Scoobie,

Do I need to have my oncologist prescribe Dyazide or is that OTC? Do you have to get labs with that to monitor kidney function or anything? What do you do to manage legs and arms? I have some lymphadema in one of my legs as well. My therapist had me get some compression socks.

Yes, Dyazide needs a prescription. I don't think it requires any labs, but I have regular labs anyway so I'm not really sure. I found the compression socks pretty useless but I know they work for some others.
