Hi everyone! My mother was diagnosed with state I breast cancer in October 2012, at the age of 54. Up until this point, we knew of no one else with breast cancer in the family. Mom had always had lumpy breasts and had multiple cautionary biopsies over the years. Once diagnosed, she received a lumpectomy, chem and radiation. She was cleared in May 2013, but was re diagnosed stage 4 in September 2013. By that time, it had spread to her spine, bones and liver. She passed on May 21st, 2014. Her doctor suggested my sister and I begin receiving mammograms even though we were not 40 yet as a precaution. I have had several clear mammograms and have never had any bumps or even been lumpy. My next annual mammogram is later this week. My breasts have been very itchy for the past month or two. Two days ago, I also discovery the top of my right breast felt slightly puffy. Not painful, just elevated and soft. The next day, I noticed by chest and armpit have been slight tender to the touch. It's probably nothing, but I'm freaking out. Might the itching be related also? I thought maybe I had a yeast infection on my breasts, but now I'm not sure. Any words of wisdom? Thank you all!
