Got my results today

I Got my results today. Stage 2 IDC grade 3. ER/PR +, HER2-.

Dr wants me to do chemo first before surgery. I'll be on tamoxifen as well and possible radiation after surgery. I did the genetic testing as well but don't have those results.

I feel a little better about things, but I have a new set of anxieties now.

    It's all very freaky and disturbing because it's unknown. Just take it a step at a time and ask questions. Once you start any of these treatments, you'll know how it is for you and what you might expect. It's usually less upsetting once you're actually doing each intervention.

    Sorry that you have joined our club but now that you have facts you’ll start to see a plan shaping. I think for most women knowing what your doctors will do will give you strength and more confidence.

    Sounds like your doctor is thinking to reduce the size of the tumor with chemotherapy before surgery. I believe that is generally a good approach. The thought behind radiation is that it destroys stray cancer cells.

    Ask as many questions as you need to-you need to feel comfortable with the plan, and your surgeon will understand that.

    You’ll also find this website a tremendous resource-incredibly strong women who give freely of their knowledge and experience.
