Don't know where else to ask this.

I am guessing using water based interior wall paint is a no no after breast cancer? I mean how do you live? I had to paint a room in the house...and maybe a few more. The window is open and I've left the room til it dries with the door closed... I was thinking because it is water based it will be ok. Am I worried this might hurt me in the long run... a bit. Any input on this. I could say it's a stupid thing to do... do you find you do dumb things but don't realize it til youre about to do it. My brain hurts from having to remember and adjust to everything.

Hi there Ginger. The best would be "low voc" interior paint but I don't think this is anything to worry about, personally. Just don't sleep in the room until the paint dries. Hope that helps!

I wouldn't worry at all about water based paints... but advice above is good. Don't sleep in the room 1st night, and if you can get Low VOC thats good as well.

Well thanks for the input. I've since heard of "low voc" since I brought the paint home today. Of course, after painting, I just started googling. I guess I will look into that. Good to know other women have done some painting, as well. Again, you just can't stop living. I wouldn't even consider oil base, but ppl rarely use that anymore anyway. I painted with water base when I was pregnant years ago. I just figured if it isn't harmful to pregnant women, it should be ok for me. You just smell the paint while you are painting and you just start to get worried. Thank you again for your responses.

Good lord, I hope not. We had our house painted last summer over the course of 5 weeks. I prolly still smell like Behr Chocolate Mocha. Never even considered it a risk and I'm not gonna start up worrying about it now.

Gingermiss- you hit the nail on the head with the pregnancy statement...if it’s ok for a pregnant lady then it’s ok for you.
