Possible Recurrence questions.

Hi! Seems like so long since I've posted here. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 TNBC in 2013. Underwent a double mastectomy and 8 rounds of Chemo. Fast forward 2 years. During a routine check up a new lump was found. I had a biopsy and it came back as scar tissue. Now here i am 5 years to the day of finishing treatments and ANOTHER new mass was found in the opposite breast. Biopsy scheduled for the 17th. Does anyone have a similar story? What was the outcome, good or bad? Is it common for cancer to return to the opposite breast 5 years later even after bilateral mastectomy? I'm terrified and I'm not sure what to think. I want to keep telling myself it’s scar tissue again, but everything about this last check up just felt different. Everyone seemed more serious than usual. I keep replaying in my head the look on the sonographers face when she was scanning the lump. Maybe I’m just overthinking it all. Idk!

my recurrence was on the same side. Don’t overthink their reactions. When is the biopsy? Hoping it is benign.
Sorry you have to deal with this stress

not overthinking is hard, but I’m trying to think positive. I go for my biopsy on the 17th and get my results at my post op on the 27th. It’s going to be a long couple weeks.

My first diagnosis was 4 years back stage 1 and no node involvement still i went through all chemotherapy radiotherapy and thn was on temoxfin. I dnt know what to do. My condition is miserable

Keke, Hoping the biopsy has benign results.
Sunshine, Mine came back after chemo and Tamoxifen. Tamoxifen just does not work for some people. I did do chemo again because my recurrence was aggressive, but now I am on Letrozole, and so far, so good. Hoping your doc has a treatment plan in place soon. Have you had genetic testing?
