Hematoma after lumpectomy

hi ladies,

I have a question regarding lumpectomy. 2 weeks ago i had a lumpectomy for my lump which was fibrosis but i wanted it out. Pathology still benign luckily. 3 days after surgery i developed a yellow bruise and bump. Called the nurse today and she said it could be a hematoma. Of course this is ok. But i also read if the hematoma dissolves it could leave scar tissue. And then i did surgery for nothing. Because the new scar tissue will feel like a lump. Which the fibrosis also felt like.

Do you have any experience in developing hard scar tissue after dissolving of the hematoma? Does it occur and how does it feel?

Thanks a lot!!

I had an enormous hematoma that didn't leave a lump. However, if yours does leave a lump it's not the end of the world--at least you will know what it is!!

And you know you'll have hard scar tissue where the lumpectomy was, right? Massage is supposed to help, but you need to keep it up regularly.

    hi

Thanks for replying!! I know that is it from the hematoma so that is great. But the reason for the lumpectomy was removing the hard lump. So i was hoping not to have any lump in return. And i do read that surgery or hematoma will leave a lump. So that's a shame

Ingerp: does a lumpectomy always leave a hard lump? Or only when you had a hematoma? Did you have this and did the massage work?

i wonder if maybe i should have left the firbosis. Which also was hard but i was used to it. But i wanted this hard lump out. The surgeon said it could leave scar tissue but not necessarily. So i am still hoping no new hard lump pops up

I joined this page specifically so I could perhaps help someone with your problem. I have had a hard lump the size of a clenched fist after my lumpectomy 6 years ago. Massage was impossible, it was so tightly wrapped. Lately, I just happened upon taking serapeptase, 120,000 units, 3 times a day, (you can order it over the counter online at Amazon and other places) and it is actually going away. I can literally feel it dissolving. It feels like very faint "buzzing". No, I am not kidding. Check into it.
