Birad 4...Biopsy friday...ruptured cyst vs mass

I get twice yearly ultrasounds due to cystic breasts. January was birad 3, yesterday i was given a birad 4 and a very scary looking ultrasound image. A month prior i had a huge cyst that you could see bulging from my inner left breast that was super painful for four days, them pain just stopped. This happens with me amd is normal.

The area where my suspicious lump is in the same area where that cyst was (its completely gone now)

I asked if the ruptured cyst fluid could be causing this and radiologist said its possible its inflammation but she wants to biopsy it to he sure.

Ive never had a breast biopsy, only cervical (and a leep procedure). My radiologost will perform the biopsyand shes wonderful but i googled and all i see are horror stories.

So now im scaring myself woth worry over the test. Anyone have any positive stories? Im getting a ultrasound guided core biopsy.

    I've had uterine, cervical, and breast biopsies and i thought the breast biopsy was the least painful if them all. They numb you up pretty good with a shot of lidocaine before they proceed. Mostly i felt pressure and heard the instrument clicking. At one point I felt a sharp pain and spoke up. They stopped immediately and gave me more lidocaine. After a few minutes wait, to let it take effect, they proceeded carefully to make sure i really was numb. It wasnt nearly as bad as i thoiught it would be.

    Hi ksc1968!

    I had an US guided biopsy back in April and mine was a breeze. The radiologist began numbing from the oustide and worked his way in. It's a little overwhelming watching it all take place...you can look away, but I chose to watch out of curiosity. I had 6 cores removed because my mass was over 5cm, but I never felt anything at all. Afterwards, I was given an ice pack that had to be used on and off for 12 hours. It was shaped like a nursing pad so even in public, no one knew it was in my bra. I had minimal swelling and it was sore for a few days. I found that keeping a bra on even while sleeping helped the discomfort.

    Hope everything goes well for you! Keep in mind that the majority of breast biopsies come back negative.

    So I went for the biopsy today, got all prepped, draped, etc. The ultrasound tech came in to check the mass via ultrasound and she couldn't find it. She had to go get the dr so she could do her own check and it was completely gone. My lucky day! I have a 6 month follow up. She believes it was a cyst that ruptured and the fluid was not fully reabsorbed. Never less it was gone!!!!

    I hope I'm posting in the right area this time. I had a biopsy done June 29th for what the surgeon thought may be intraductal papilloma. He said he only thought of a 4 to 5% chance of malignancy. I called this past Thursday to his office to see if results were available. I was told by staff they were back on his desk and he would call. No call back all day Thursday or Friday. Is this normal for a MD to not return your call on a matter that is obviously giving you massive anxiety? Anyone with similar experience?

    It probably is during a holiday week when a lot of people might be out of the office
