Confused about my chart results
on May 21, 2018 I had my yearly mammogram. I have very dense breasts and my maternal grandmother had bc. The mammogram showed s small group of microcalcalcifications in the left central 12:00 position of my left breast. I had a follow up mammo diagnostic unilat of my left breast on May 25, 2018 which showed new grouped calcifications and a stereotactic biopsy was recommended. On June 5, 2018 I had the biopsy done at Zwanger Perisi. I was not nervous nor does a little pain or blood bother me. I was fine throughout the procedure. When they were finishing up, I felt dizzy and passed out. When I woke up, the nurses told me I must have been nervous. I really felt like I had a reaction to the ladicaine but I was told that never is the case. I was dizzy and nauseous for a few hours afterwards. I never get sick and have a high tolerance for pain. But I digress. The pathology report read “ Atypical ductal hyperpladia and columnar cell change with calcifications. Excision would be prudent. It read BI-RADS-4.
My Ob/gyn called me and instructed me to see a bs. I had a benign lump taken out 10 years prior and decided on going to the same bs. I saw him on June 19, 2018 for a consult and He alleviated my fears. He said he didn't think I had anything to worry about. He will send it out to a few pathologists for second opinions. I was instructed by his nurse to Call back in 8 days if I don't hear from them. Since I didn't hear from them, I called back in eight days. I was told by the nurse that I only had the consult 4 days earlier and they only sent it out on June 23, 2018. I felt unsure of their competence since they didn't even know what day I was there. On July 2, 2018, today, I received a study test result in my chart. This, 13 days after my consult with the bs. It states Ultrasound left breast, The Patient has fluid collection in the upper outer left breast and the posterior depth. She is status post recent stereotactic left breast biopsy. No solid masses noted. It states scan on June 27, 2018. Now my question is: This study result doesn't even sound like my information. Am I just reading too much into this and why do I receive this from a report and not my bs? Do I have anything to be concerned about? Should I go to another bs or am I just jumping the gun here. TIA for any info.

Were you scanned on those dates? Did you have an US after your stereotactic biopsy? Can you post the reports?
Also, ADH is always surgically removed as a precaution as are any atypical cells that are found on a breast biopsy.

Thank you for replying to my post. Yes, I did have a US after the biopsy. That was one of the reasons I was confused. I didnt realize I had an ultrasound done at the BS office. It came back as fluid collection in the upper outer left breast in the posterior depth. It also states no solid masses noted. The fluid is probably from the steteotavtic biopsy. The BS called me today and informed me that the pathogist confirmed atypical ductal hyperplasia and they will be calling me to schedule a lumpectomy. Does anyone happen to know how many times a lumpectomy is performed for adh and something more severe is uncovered? Just want to be prepared and TIA

re: ADH
- Analysis of larger samples of breast may result in an upgrade of the diagnosis to ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or invasive breast cancer in 10 to 20% of cases.
