Insurance is what it is, lucky I'm 44 and this is the first time I have had any kind of issue... Had my biopsy today, I turned to doc and said give it to me straight with similar cases what are my odds... he was honest and said he felt like it was 50/50 chance, I said that's not so bad I'm a pretty lucky girl!! hopefully the results don't take to long, still hate the wait.

I saw my family doc yesterday to get the results of my biopsy. I wish it were different; however, it's named and less scary now (if that makes sense). I have "Invasive Ductal Carcinoma". I see the breast surgeon on the 3rd to go through treatment options and get the remaining info (stage, grade, hormone receptors, etc).

Hopedreams; ShellShell69: not sure where all of this went for you; I hope all of the best and that means that you were B9.

Kangcongrl: I hope you don't have to wait too much longer to hear the outcome. I want to hear what's happening with you, please keep me posted. xo

    KWilli,

I'm very sorry to hear your news, I hope that you stay on and learn from all these amazing women and gain the strength that you need for the road ahead. My heart goes out to you and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I recieved my results today and feel so very fortunate that they are B9. A MRI and another Mammo in a few months just to make sure but I'm not going to let that worry me, I know it is set up just as a precaution.

Just going through this experience has changed me, and I have so much respect for the women who were not as fortunate as I am to get the B9 result. Good luck and best wishes to you KWilli.

I had Two core biopsies done yesterday on my right breast. A mass and a lesion. Very sore yesterday and today. Ice packs are helping some. They said I can take the bandages off after 24hrs. Couldn't sleep last night from the soreness and worry. I will find out my results next Tuesday. Feels like forever!!! Surgeon said she doesn't think it's malignant but have to wait on biopsies because there's still a 20% chance. Worried but trying to stay positive

    Cathy,

Sounds like theres a good chance the results will be benign. 😊 However, I know how aweful the waiting is. Try your best to keep your mind occupied and come back to vent if you need to. We are here for each other!

    Cindy🤗

    Cindy,

Thank you. I Know the chances are low, but I have a family history so it makes me worry. I posted my mammogram on here somewhere.

My best friends son just finished 6 months of chemo for non hodgins lymphoma. It was rough watching him go through that. He just had his 3 months workup and everything is looking great for him! ☺

The things that worry me on my mammo is Bi-Rads 4 suspicious abnormalities, irregular hypoechoic solid mass no internal vascularity 5×9.5 mm, I also have a Stellate solid lesion with mild internal vascularity 5×7.5 mm

    The surgeon was very arrogant

I see in your bio that you were just diagnosed last month 😔 I'm sorry. Hopefully everything will go easy on you ❤

Cathy - There's nothing you can do at this point but wait. It's very hard but just try to keep your mind off it and enjoy your July 4! I am sure it's nothing, and even if it is, you're going to be fine.

    Nonomimi5,

Thank you. I see on your bio about E/R + P/R. If you don't mind me asking what does that mean? I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago and been on a lot of different patches and pills, some were estrogen and some estrogen and progesterone. I've read that my HRT could be the reason I'm going through this. Do you know if that's true?

Cathy- ER and PR positive are the most common type of BC. To say it simply, the cancer grows with Estrogen, so after removing the tumor and doing radiation, you can take hormone blocking drugs to prevent cancer from growing. You also can try to suppress estrogen in your body by losing weight, exercising and eating healthy, mostly plant based diet. We don't know how we got BC but taking hormone therapy, having children late in life, taking birth control pills, family history, not healthy lifestyle, not exercising, and environmental factors can all be part of it. ER/PR positive have short term treatment, but risk of recurrence grows long term. You just need to stop thinking about all this until your biopsy comes back. Stress is bad for your health.

Hormone receptor-positive (or hormone-positive) breast cancer cells have either estrogen (ER) or progesterone (PR) receptors. These breast cancers can be treated with hormone therapy drugs that lower estrogen levels or block estrogen receptors. Hormone receptor-positive cancers tend to grow more slowly than those that are hormone receptor-negative. Women with hormone receptor-positive cancers tend to have a better outlook in the short-term, but these cancers can sometimes come back many years after treatment.

    Cindy, nonmimi,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm overwhelmed with anxiety and stress. I guess the possibility of me having cancer is too much for my husband. He just started an argument with me and packed his stuff and left. Who does that to someone they're supposed to love? I just had my core biopsies done yesterday and still hurting from those and he does this. Guess it's better to know before it's too late. I would rather go through this by myself then with someone who acts like a child and runs away... Sry for vent... Noone else to talk too about it. Happy 4th everyone!!! 😘

    Cindy,

I am so sorry for what happened. Right now, you need to think only about yourself and take care of yourself. You don't need your husband to give you more stress. My husband is around but he doesn't understand anything I am going through and I don't expect him too. Don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed. Be strong. You're going to get through this. Praying you are B9.

Sorry to jump on someone else’s post! A little lost on this forum as I’ve posted my own post but can’t seem to find it anywhere.. But here I am worrying and waiting too and wondered if anyone could give me some hope...

I have found myself here based on hours of trawling through posts hoping to find a reason/answer other than BC as to why I have these symptoms.

I'm 29 years old with a little boy (nearly 3) and I noticed a change in my right areola. A change in texture and appearance- almost like a patch of lighter skin. The patch got substantially more noticeable in a short space of time and I noticed an indent- made worse when I lift my arm over my head. I didn't think anything seriously of it until I saw a fb post about dimpling and then my partner made a comment about it when he looked at my reflection in the bathroom mirror.

I went to the doctors and she did a full examination and said she could feel a lump. I was shocked to say the least as I hadn't felt it myself but I guess she knows what she's looking for.

She made an urgent referral and I have my breast clinic appt on Tuesday. I am trying to be logical and trying to think positive but the nightmares I'm having are awful.

I'm just looking for a bit of support really on here please and to gage and idea of what else it could be. Do benign tumours/cysts present themselves like this too? Could it be hormonal?

    Thanks in advance

    Jessica

Cathy, sorry your husband's being an a$$.  Maybe he'll get his act together.

Jessica I think your breast changes should be followed up on.  It could be anything.  I know how hard it is, I'm still waiting for answers .  I have to wait until Monday to hear something.  So to pass the time I got on Ebay and bought an Espresso machine.  Anything to keep my mind on something else.  I read about espresso machines for the whole day.  Tomorrow I'll have to think about where to put it and what kind of beans I want.  I know that sounds strange, but it works for me!

Thank you! I have my appt on Tuesday. This past week and a half seem to have dragged and I just feel like my anxieties are getting worse. I’m even feeling collarbone pain and a full a ache- which I’m im sure is psychological. I hope you don’t have to wait long! Do you have your appt soon? I’m planning my best friend’s hen at the moment so that keeps me busy, as well as my boisterous toddler...

Cathy I’m so sorry to read about your husband! Hopefully you have other family members and friends to support you! And I can see that many find this forum reassuring. Sending lots of cyber hugs to you :

Jessica, my appt is Monday for onc. to read all the films.

It is very hard to take your mind off potential scenarios.  Funny how I and others "feel pains" that are new, LOL.  Can't help it.  Toddlers need a lot of attention.

Ok ladies.. I had my biopsies done Tues. Still a little tender but I'm ok. I don't see any signs of infection in the incision sites but I feel a little off today. My blood pressure is 77/55 and I have a temp of 100°. Should I be worried? See the surgeon Tuesday for my results

Cathy - I think you should monitor your fever very closely and if it gets worse, definitely call your doctor. Do you feel warmth on your incision
