Hello, Thank you so much for this forum to seek information and share my thoughts.

I was diagnosed as ADH from needle biopsy in early May, and need a surgical biopsy to find out more. Under one doctor's suggestion, I postponed my biopsy surgery from Mid June to end of July to wait for hematoma to go away. My surgeon said I do not need to wait for hematoma to go away though. I am becoming quite nervous in the last couple of days though, wondering whether I messed it up, whether delaying the surgical biopsy would delay and messed up my treatment if the biopsy turned up something invasive:(

I have enough distractions during the day from taking care of a young baby, but my mind could not help wondering on this when I am in bed. Did I make a stupid decision by postponing my surgery? my baby needs me..

Thankfully, no. While ADH does confer increased risk for breast cancer, it is a benign condition. Breast cancer is generally very slow growing anyway, so waiting 6 weeks for a biopsy isn't likely to make any difference at all.

We like to say here, its not cancer until pathology proves it. So, find ways to keep busy. Try not to waste time and energy worrying about something that has not happened, and may never happen. Your baby needs you.
