Hi Ladies,

I hope you all are doing well. I got my first silicone prostheses boob this past week and was wondering how to keep it clean? I was told to use soap and water and something about a powder but not sure what kind works best.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hugs to all,

Sara

I wash mine with hand soap and allow to dry on a towel. Though, in he beginning that didn't seem to work or was enough as one side of my chest always had a severe body odor. It was weird. I started using under arm deodorant on the scar and that made a huge difference.

    Hi jajjaaj,

Thank you for sharing your tip about using deodorant on the scar itself I never would have thought of trying that before. What kind of deodorant do you use gel or the solid kind.

    Thank You

    Sara

    Hi Jajjaaj,

I've thought about using deodorant for years, not for body odor, but just to keep from perspiring behind my forms, especially in warm weather. I asked my dermatologist and she thought it would be fine, but the thought of putting an antiperspirant on my chest has always made me nervous. Silly, I know, since I apply it daily to my nearby underarms. I'm glad it's helped you and I would consider doing it, at least on occasion, when I really want to wear silicone forms but don't want to be uncomfortable.
