hi. What an awesome community. The raw honest is amazing and something I've grown a great appreciation for as I've read thru the various posts.

I'm a 52 year old who has had a history of cysts (benign) in my left breast. I found a palpable lump and when to gyn who sent me for mammogram. The I had a ultrasound- this isn't unusual as I have had the cysts before and I have larger dense breasts. Even in the past they have called the lump a cyst but would biopsy to confirm. I even had one removed. This time the radiologist said there were changes in mammogram and there was a dark area so she is recommending an ultrasound guided core biopsy

My surgeon from before is doing biopsy tomorrow

I got a copy of my results today...

Ultrasound reveals a 2.7 cm hypoechoic area with shadowing at 2 o'clock

BI-RADS 4. Suspicious abnormality.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any percentages on whether or this will or won't be cancer.

Also, my boob didn't hurt before the mammogram but it's been sore and achy and at times few pinchy.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

BIRADs4 is still about 80% benign, so hold on to that. The achey-ness you describe may be from the mammogram itself. I have had a few that left my poor breasts beat up. Stress and anxiety can also cause pain in the breasts and elsewhere. Hopefully you will get results from your biopsy later this week.Best of luck to you!

56 here. Just got my mammogram results back with not the usual all is normal results! I have an 11mm (1.1cm) spiculated mass, rt breast 12:00 position. Freaked me out for sure! I cried for about 2 hrs then dried me eyes and got my family and friends together and laid it out. I'm really hoping it's just old lady boobs but I'm setting up my support just in case. My dad passed 6/9/18 and mom is in hospice for advanced pancreatic cancer. Can only handle so much! My compression view and ultrasound are scheduled for 7/5. I'm hoping for the best for both of us!!
