New to Forum—Worried, Scared & Stressed
Hi, My name is Jeri. I've been on the site for days (wonderful community) & finally got up the nerve to make a post.
I had a callback last Tuesday, compression and ultrasound of left breast.
Radiologist came into room and continued ultrasound with tech and said it was suspicious and I needed a biopsy. He did say if it's not benign, it's early stage and cureable. I was expecting, 'it's a cyst, come back in 6 months... or 'it's a lump, probably nothing but we we'll biopsy...'. So much for positive thinking.
My report says Bi-Rads 4 (c)Suspicious
Possible archectural distortion on mammogram/compared to previous mammos.
9:00 position (measurements) irregular Hypoechoic. Radiologist said about size of a pea. He said it's not a cyst or lump. The report states irregular structure. It's not round/oval. He asked if I had any trauma to the breast—I told him absolutely not.
My heart started pounding and tears slowly started flowing as I laid on the table. I'm so stressed and scared.
They cannot get me in for Biopsy until this Thursday, over a week. They have no radiologist in today, tomorrow or Wednesday. My reaction, how can that be!?! I'm sick with stress.
I've been using “Dr. Google" and everything leads to worse than best scenarios...The shape irregular, Hypoechoic...
I need an outlet. I'm an only child. I lost my Mom and I have to say, I never missed & needed her more in my life than right now.
Regardless of a reply, it just feels good getting it off my chest. It's definitely “safer" here than Google
Thank you.

Do you have a breast surgeon? Different areas do things differently but where I'm being treated, the biopsies are done by breast surgeons. Not sure if this is an option for you but maybe you could get in sooner? In the meantime, you don't have any information yet other than you need to explore this further. No reason to worry about it, and yes--the waiting is the worst. In the meantime, there are tons of sympathetic ears here. Hang in there, DO NOT assume the worst, and try to divert yourself as you wait through the process. Lots of women start binge-watching Netflix around now. ;-)

Thank you very much for your reply. I do have a well recommended breast surgeon affiliated with a great hospital.
Unfortunately, I reached out today and they told me that by the time I see the surgeon and have my records reviewed, and the biopsy scheduled my results will most likely be back.
They said to get all my discs and reports (past mammos), ultrasound. After I recieve the results—request a copy of the post biopsy imaging also. I need to fax report and they will get me in ASAP if it's positive and if it's B9 with recommendations, I will still make an appointment for a 2nd opinion.
I started searching Netflix last night. 😊 I need some mindless entertainment right now.
Thanks again.

It sounds like you're doing all the right things, with the exception of Dr Google--hes a crappy friend, scaring people for the last 20 years.. Your chances are still pretty good. BIRADS4 lumps are about 80-90% benign.
If you feel incapacitated by the stress, ask your doctor if a little anxiety med might help. Good luck. Let us know how it goes for you.
