Heny - so sorry about your heart issues. I have some questions for you: 1) Did you have AC or Adriamycin Chemo ? 2) Was your heart rate high before chemotherapy? The reason I ask is that both my sister and I had fast heart rates after chemotherapy and take Metoprolol ever since chemo as chemo caused our fast heart rates.

I had a heart attack during AC chemo and then heart damage from Herceptin. My heart ejection fraction on ECHO dropped from 65 to 29 back 6 years ago. It has remained 29 through these years - just had a checkup. But I do well on the medicine and have very few symptoms.

But one of the greatest side effects of Adriamycin chemotherapy is heart issues up to 20 years after treatment. I am constantly urging women who had AC chemo to have their heart checked.

There are quite a few of us out there who have had these heart issues.

Thank you Denise for talking to me. I had AC on my chemo treatment. it’s 10 years now. Also, a had high heart rate before treatment. It started when I was 19 years old. My doctors told me it was panic attack. When I moved to USA 20 years a go my panick atacks became more frequently. I am from Brazil em met my husband while we were working in Guyana. I am so glad to hear that you do well on your medication. I do not trust my cardiologist now. I Need to find a new one. The reason I do not trust him anymore it’s because on April last year my injection fraction was 40and i think he should have help me then to not drop down to 25. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

Hi Denise it's heny. I had today an angiogram and none of my arteries was clog. however my injection fraction continue 25. My question to you is: did you need a pace maker? How is your life with a lower injection fraction? Do you exercise?
