Pain near the end of tissue expander fills

My first four expander fills were no problem. Just minor discomfort and pain subsided after a couple days. On my fifth fill things became very different. I had been having 90 cc’s put in and this time the PA had to stop at 60 cc’s and she said it was full and she couldn’t fit more in. I went back to work and about 3-4 hrs later I began having considerable pain especially in my back. Pain continued to worsen and began having muscle spasms. Had to start taking muscle relaxer and pain med for the next three days. Waited two weeks to have the next fill to allow the muscle to calm down. Had 30’ccs put in 3 days ago and doing good during the day but once I go to bed the pain will wake me up and it’s excruciating to roll on my side and get out of bed again similar to the pain I had right after my mastectomy. Has anyone experienced the same?

my last fill was the only one I had trouble with as it was being pushed to its max. But I did eventually get past that. It just took about a week.

Did your PS put extra in? To get a good final stretch.

    PNWBCHgirl.

Glad to hear that your pain only lasted a week after your last full. You asked if my PS overfilled to get a good final stretch. I don’t think this is the case as I’m still in need of 90cc’s before we stop. I currently have 540cc’s in as of today. Will be getting 30’cc’s each week for the next three weeks. I think it’s the weight of the expander on my chest when I lie down because once I wake up and get moving around for a short while, the pain subsides. Can’t imagine if i have still this pain in the night and morning until I have my exchange surgery. That is about 9 weeks away☹️

Just a suggestion and maybe you already do this, but thought i would throw it out here. I slept with pillows at each side of me to rest my arms on which made it way more comfortable on my back also gave me extra room on the side since expanders are not as flexible as our breasts were.
