I'm not sure where to begin; but I'd like to tell a story. My wife is a 6-year survivor of breast cancer, we were married a month before her diagnosis. Tamoxifen, surgery after surgery, depression, despair... life was very hard for many years. Along the way she drank in all of the medical aspects of treatment, medical procedures and everything, even to the point of her doctors asking her if she was a doctor.

After treatments, she took the bold step of applying to medical school at age 40 and got in. She had met an older woman at the salon who had cancer in the 1970s and went back to school to become a doctor. My wife was inspired to do the same.

The second year of school has been really tough and she needs some inspiration and prayers to get through some tough exams. Yesterday she asked me "If I fail, will you still love me?" The answer is twofold.

Yes, I will still love you, and I love you even more for trying. This is my prayer to the world on her behalf.

Beautiful! Glad she is a 6yr survivor and wish her a lifetime of NED. So glad to see a positive come out of a horrible situation. She tackled BC, she will tackle and be successful in her schooling. She obviously has a lot she wants to give, to make a difference and give hope from a personal perspective to others by choosing this path.

She is so very lucky to have a husband who has supported her through her treatment and is right next to her supporting her in her future. I am sure she will succeed but even if she decides to change her mind, she has made such a difference within herself by going for it.

My sister was diagnosed 9years ago with Inflammatory breast cancer. After chemo, surgery, radiaton, she decided to pursue becoming an LPN. She did, and at the top of her class too.

Best of luck to you both. :)
