hi dhanno...I'm in my second day post surgery. I'm using a abdominal binder which has been a god send. I would definitely try one :

I could not tolerate a bra after lumpectomy. My surgery was on a friday, and by Monday morning I was so uncomfortable from it I called the surgeon and asked if I could just be braless. They said ok. And it healed just fine. I would call your surgeon and ask if it's ok!

When I had my lumpectomy, I was told that some women feel more comfortable with a bra, some without, some prefer a camisole or something like that, and to just wear whatever felt most comfortable.

I have a small chest (A-cup!), so for the first maybe 10 days or so, I stuck with wearing a tanktop with a build-in shelf bra (you know, the ones that are all stretchy), and I was perfectly comfortable that way, it gave me just enough support in all the right places and I had no issues with healing at all.

Unless your doctor says otherwise, you can probably wear (or not wear!) whatever is most comfortable for you while you heal.
