Extreme fatigue began 5 months after radiation

I just turned 72 March of 2018. I was diagnosed with dcis March of 2017 and had lumpectomy in April along with Sentinel and 2nd lymph node removal. Had radiation for 6 weeks from middle of May to end of June 2017. I was told I might have fatigue but I did not have any until about 5 months later. Every day I have difficulty getting up after even 8 or 9 hours of sleep and if I sit down during the day I tend to drift off. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you on a pill to deplete your estrogen? One of the side effects of this daily pill is fatigue. I often feel like I need a nap during the afternoon. I think this is common. My last radiation treatment was a year ago for stage 2 breast cancer

I had surgery in July 2017, radiation in September 2017, and started anastrozole in Oct 2017. so have been taking the pills for 6 months. I am just now starting to notice fatigue. Will this continue to get worse? I am supposed to take the hormones for 5 years. Does it get better when you go off the pills? Of course i'll be 70in 5 years, so how would I know if it was age or the pills!

I just started experiencing the fatigue. Finished radiation on 3/1/18. I started the hormone suppressant in January. Glad to know a possible cause.

Seconding the sleep apnea thought (been there, done that).  Do see your PCP.  I suppose there are other possibilities, but it is highly unlikely that your symptoms have anything to do with your cancer diagnosis or treatment.
