Gardening, anyone?

Not sure where else to post this: I saw my first hummingbird this season. Or rather he/she saw me, and my cat, sitting out on the front porch. After a thorough examination, the creature flipped us the tail and buzzed off. (I have honeysuckle twining over my porch, and they often come for a snack.)

Fun, I have been seeing the rufus , the anna is here all year long. I wish we would see more sun and alittle warmer.

My white azalea is in full bloom!

Veggie garden is planted. We put in two kinds of tomatoes, squash. Also cucumbers, beans and peas.

Did the flower bed and around my Daddy’s treetoo. Put in impatients, marigolds and petunias.

Backyard roses in bloom too!

Lovely flowers ladies! I am weeks behind, still suffering from nerve pain and had a week of migraines, which I think were caused by a meds. change. Haven't done much gardening but dh has been keeping the yard and garden in shape. Today he and ds cut up the big willow tree which the beavers took down last fall right after the hurricane. HOA finally sent a letter and said it had to go.

Jazzy, yes the top one is sedum. I think it might be autumn joy, which grows in Georgia. All of my sedum plants bloom in the early to late summer.

Kiki- beautiful flowers, my hydrangea is nowhere near blooming!

m0mmyof2- I took a chance and planted early this year. I have zucchini that are almost ready (had a ton early last year too!) and squash is coming along nicely. I’m actually north of you, but close to the ocean.

I’ve had a bunch of rogue tomato plants come up on their own this year, and I’m not sure what to do about it. I thinned them to the 6 or so strongest scattered between the two gardens, but may need to pull more. I already have 4 that I planted and don’t really need 10 tomato plants! I offered some to my neighbor who has a garden, but no. My family already had theirs. They seem very healthy, hate to just toss em, but space is limited! Moving them to containers means getting Even More potting soil...

Good problem to have I guess

warrior- unfortunately I do not, which is why I don't need so many! However, my sister is supposed to teach me canning this year, so we may end up doing salsa or something. A canning party sounds like a great idea! I also have a lot of containers going on the back deck, and some of those are doing very well. The pepper plants on the deck are twice as big as the ones in the garden!

Peachy, I'm south of you in PA and the hydrangeas are in full bloom! Learning to do canning would be very useful. I've always been a little afraid of doing it wrong though!

Hey Jazzy! I used to live in NM and missed things like hydrangeas. But now that I'm back East, I miss my high desert garden. Guess I just love them all ⚘ I enjoy seeing your pictures.

Dodgersgirl, zucchini already! My zukes and cucumbers are full of blossoms so shouldn't be long. I do have little bitty peppers and tomatoes starting to ripen.
