pre-lumpectomy/radiation surgery concern

Hello, I'm new to this site and would welcome some advice. I just received biopsy results indicating I needed a lumpectomy for a pre-cancer or stage zero mass in my right breast. I'm scheduled to see a surgeon soon but wanted some input here if anyone wouldn't mind. I'm really unsure as to whether or not post-surgery radiation treatments are recommended or should be avoided. Would love some opinions. Thank you.

What is the diagnosis of your pre-cancer/stage 0? It makes a difference.

Many of us with DCIS have had lumpectomy + radiation. I was told two years ago that it would cut the probability of recurrence in half. Easy decision for me.

Precancer Stage 0 can also mean just atypia and not DCIS. Atypia wouldn't get radiation.

DCIS, solid type, nuclear grade 3, ranging 1.0-2.2 cm and avg. 0.4 length.
