This may sound wierd, I have never really been worried about breast cancer in the past. Just recently my sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and so was my mother-in-law (two different families). I have been thinking about it constantly and I don't know how worried I should be, I have had nipple discharge for the last year or more, is that normal?? My mom was adopted so we know NOTHING about her past and if there was cancer in her family. My sister has cervical cancer so there is a from of cancer in my family. I just don't know if I should be worried about the discharge. Any good advice out there?

I would get that checked out immediately. Nipple discharge can be a sign of something serious. For peace of mind I would call my GYN and report it, get a mammo and be sure.

I am really wondering too if it is a sign of cancer. I am 27 years old and I really think that I am in denial. I have three kids and don't know what I would do if it were cancer.

How old is your youngest child? Sometimes women have breast discharge related to lactation even if they stopped breast feeding. My advice: Don't panic but Do get it checked out asap. At the very least, if it is nothing to worry about you will stop worrying that much sooner. Our thoughts are with you and we look forward to seeing your new post informing us that everything is fine!

My youngest is almost 3. That thought had gone through my head, but I thought that that stopped a long time ago.

Get it checked out, so you won't worry anymore. You can reduce your cancer risk by paying attention to your health, eating well and exercising. Get regular exams and do self exams. Then enjoy your kids and your life!

Get your symptom checked out so you can live fully again, without the worry.
    Take care,
