    Hi Nicole,

Hugs to you. I pray you are able to sleep tonight. You will see a breast surgeon soon after and feel better once a plan is in place. There is so much they can do to help us now. 🤗

ok here’s a random topic. Did anyone quit drinking coffe? What about sugar? I quit both as soon as I knew it was bad. I was told that they make the tumors grow in my doctors biggest concern is the cancer spreading to my body so to avoid the risk I quit both cold turkey. I feel so empty and lost without them. LOL I also read that red meat was bad. So I’ve been buying fish and chicken. Did anybody else do this? It’s so hard because they basically don’t say anything till “official” diagnosis.

I cannot give up coffee..Well I could if I had to. I will have to ask my Dr's bout it.I knew about the sugar. I did ask my Dr about soy. I eat more vegetarian based diet then anything else. He told me it's controversial , but to be safe atleast cut way back on it. I have been thinking lately about ways to change my diet for the better. What one study says is good for you, another will say it's bad. Wouldn't it be nice if it was clear cut?

Hope you get your report ASAP Nicole.. fingers AND toes crossed for B9 result! 🤗Cyn

I have not changed my diet much at all. In my case, i don't think diet played much of a role at all. I have two gene mutations and a horrible family breast cancer history. Honestly, it seemed inevitable that i would also get BC. I don't drink coffee, never smoked. I'll grant you, i do have some risk factors: obesity, 30 yrs old at 1st pregnancy, started period at 15, menopause at 57. Oh well. Not much i can do about it now. The horse is already out of the barn. I refuse to beat myself up about it. Even if i lost weight RIGHT NOW it probably wouldn't reduce my risk much.

I don't believe coffee is bad for you. I also drink green tea for its anti-oxident. I changed to mostly plant based diet. I have heard meat, sugar, processed food, refined wheat/rice/pasta, etc. is bad for you. Gaining weight and not exercising is bad for you. I think the best medicine against recurrence is to lose weight and get in shape. Here's a list of what to eat:

    Nicole..

I received a call 2 days after core biopsy from my Gyno telling me it was Papillary Carcinoma, but that was all he knew at that point Some Drs may not give info little by little tho, and wait until they have complete report.

Hope you get some answers soon. So sorry for the wait. Hang in there! Prayers, Cyn

Hi! I'm in a similar situation. I am 35, noted some breast thickening on the right breast back in March. A couple weeks ago, I felt a lump that is about 2 cm. Since then I have had a mammo/US both with BI-RADS 5, highly suspicious for malignancy. On Friday, I had a US guided core biopsy. I meet with the breast surgeon Thursday of this week and have an MRI scheduled for Friday. I've been doing a lot of research on BI-RADS and honestly I am freaking out. I've been trying to keep it together. While, for me things are moving very quickly....now that I am awaiting results time seems to be standing still. I know that 80% of biopsies come back negative. I wonder though out of that 80% how many were BI-RADS 5?

    SunnyDee,

I am so sorry you find yourself here. It’s not a club we wish to join, but one that you will find comfort and extremely valuable information.

Take a look at this forum that I found on this site. It’s very informative about Bi-rads 5 rating. Remember, nothing is proven until your pathology results are in your hands. I’ve seen some, albeit not many, bi-rads 5 scores come back benign. Breast cancer treatment has come a long way. We are here for you, should you need us.

    Best wishes.

I am so sorry. It’s is the most mind wreaking two weeks that I’ve ever gone through. Everything I read points to cancer but when you talk to people they do whatever they can to convince you it’s B9. So frustrating. I am really hoping your is B9 and if it’s isnt then I hope it’s an easy treatment. No matter what we are hear for you. Stupid boobs.

Whatever the results you will survive. I am a single mom too and I was laid off before my diagnosis and my diagnosis was triple negative aggressive (grade 3) cancer. I have survived chemo and surgery and am stronger than ever and waiting to finish radiation. Still looking for work but optimistic and happy. Hoping for benign results for you but if not here are some things that helped me

    1. I exercised daily ever since chemo started. A 30 minute video on Amazon prime from Lumowell fitness which combines some light weight lifting, abs and cardio. I cannot tell you how much this helped. Kept the side affects away and gave me energy and research shows exercise shrinks tumors during chemo and keeps cancer away

    2. I cut out refined carbs (white bread, white pasta and white rice) and upped my fruit and veggie intake. I lost 25 lbs during treatment and am at a normal weight

    3. I go to a cancer support group, therapy group and also have an individual therapist.

According to my oncologist chemo and surgery went well and pathology report points to a great prognosis for me. It was hard. My 15 year old son became depressed with my diagnosis but with my excellent medical team and with all the mental health support I had I feel great. Yes cancer could come back and kill me but it doesn't matter. I know I will die of something one day and in the meantime I am going to enjoy each and every moment that I have. I will do my very best to survive for my children's sake but at the end of the day how and when I die are not upto me

Love and hugs and prayers for no cancer for you!

Nicole - I am very sorry for the long wait. Hang in there. Better they get a second opinion and be accurate than come back with marginal results. Praying for good news.

Got the call today. Estrogen driven aggressive breast cancer. Wait for more slides to come back because the lymph node tested to be also testosterone and that other thing receptive which is bad so they’re trying to decide how they’re going to treat it. I will know more when I meet with the surgeon on Tuesday they will have the slide results back by then their decision is whether to give me chemo first then surgery or surgery first. Pray for no spreading till then.
