I was a small 34B. (I jokingly said I was an A+). I was filled to 300cc and went with the round, high projection and they are 325 cc. I’m a little bigger than I was prior, but I think I actually look more “normal”. Talk to your PS about the look you want. I was actually happy with how my TE looked which is why I went with the rounds and the high profile. My PS was very good at explaining how the different types and shapes would look. I’m really happy with how I ended up. I haven’t been fitted with a bra yet (they said wait 6-8wks post surgery) but I’d estimate a solid B or maybe a B+. Good luck with your exchange. It is so much more comfortable than the TE

btw I didn’t like the way mine looked initially. I don’t know if I just needed to get used to it, or if it needed time to form correctly to my body, but six weeks later, I think it looks nice

Thank you ladies for your experiences

TaRenee- my dr was already talking about high profile and about the same size cc’s, so that’s great to know you are about where you were. I had post breastfeeding droopy boobs even at 33, so I know they will be an adjustment getting used to perky breasts!

My biggest concern I’ll talk with the ps about is not wanting them to high, I don’t want cleavage in my collarbone!

    Hi SLL,

You should go to the thread

    BREAST IMPLANT SIZING 101

And talk to WhippetMom. She's really good at this stuff. Make sure to read her original message so you give her the info she needs to make the assessment.

    Hugs and good luck!

HOW are all of you doing? I bet all of us who were working before have been back to work for a while now, and everything's more or less in the swing of things. Does anyone else feel like her chest and upper arms are still pretty weak compared to what they used to be like?

I was trying to do half push-ups (yes, I'm THAT out of shape) and definitely felt WEAK!

Sweat Pea, I just got the go ahead from my PS to start working out. I am totally weak in my upper body now. I don’t know if I can even do half pushups. So yes. I am right there with you.

I am going to see if the Livestrong program at the YMCA has a schedule for the summer. It’s free for cancer survivors and I think that may be my start point. I think it is a 12 week class. I need to check on that.

TaRenee, I went today to a cancer community center that has all sorts of classes and resources. I figured I’ll start working out there with gentle yoga and other exercises. Then pick up the pace once my strength and stamina return.

Both of those things sound like great ideas. I wish I had some similar local resource but I can't think of anything. I was thinking of signing up for yoga and just starting at my own pace, albeit pretty slowly at this point.

sweet pea, absolutely lots of weakness. So much so that I’m going to physical therapy to try and regain some of my arm strength. My PT said it’s very common. I would discuss this with your surgeon as I’m sure it would be very easy to be prescribed PT.

Jadalulu, that is a great idea. I really hadn't thought of PT but it's so effective. Thanks!

Sweet Pea I have gone to 4 sessions so far and have started to notice a difference. You have to stay consistent and do the exercises on the days you aren’t at therapy but I consider it as my Personal Trainer not Physical Therapy! She also focuses on stretching your pec muscles, that has been an issue for me. Mainly the pecs are now over the implants so they need a little retraining.

    hello!

I’m not having my exchange for a couple months because I wanted a summer break. However, I thought I would ask you girls if your expander size was bigger then your implant size? I feel like I read somewhere that it is. I haven’t heard this from my PS, but we haven’t had our pre op appointment yet either. Just thought I would ask this group since you would now

My implants are about the same size as my expanders were. I was filled to 300 cc and my implant is 325 cc. But they look the same as they did with the expander (size wise anyway). My understanding is that The difference sometimes is that the port (in the expanded) takes up space and if the same fill is used for the implant it may be slightly smaller.

Strengthandjoy, I wish I could tell you mine but I don't know them off the top of my head (I have the documentation at home, somewhere). If you write in Exchange City I bet you'll get a bunch of responses there.

Good for you for taking a summer break! :-)

I know this is a slightly older post but I had a rash all over my chest and shoulders also, not on my breast tho. I am considered to be allergic to the hibaclens, the stuff you shower with before surgery. maybe the reason my breast didnt break out too was the prepping solution they used on that area during surgery. I'v had 2 surgeries since my mastectomy and just used antibacterial (dial) hand soap in the shower,as I was told to do so, and didnt have any rash on either surgery.
