Need input
Hi everyone,
So I am 34 and have a history of cervical cancer when I was 19. I also had a gastric bypass around that same time and one year later had cosmetic surgery which included breast implants (saline).
I found a hard, non moving lump under my left breast 8 months ago. Due to having uterine fibroids I just figured it was probably a fibroid in my breast. 2 months later it was still there so I saw my GYN and she ordered a mammo and 3D ultrasound. Both came back stating no mass found and that I had dense fiborous tissue to both breast. It's been six months and I have pain to that breast, shoulder pain, rib pain, slight dimple or area that sinks in, and the lump is larger and feels differently but still rock hard. Gynecologist is sending me to a GS who specializes in breast cancer.
MY appointment is tomorrow and I am so scared and don't know what to think. I have 3 children and I am a nurse but feel so lost.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Also, I have polycyclic ovaries and endometriosis.

GS will palpate it, note any changes/abnormalities and likely schedule an MRI. You’d be surprised how many lumps don’t show up on mammo or u/s. GS May also just decide to excise it without MRI. Personally, I’d want the MRI to identify any potential changes surrounding the lump before any cutting takes place. Wishing you luck!

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback.

Update:
Saw the surgeon and she said she did not think it was anything to worry about but just in case wanted to order a MRI. I called Monday asking if they could include the shoulder and neck since I have had pain that is not going away on that same side. The office said no problem and that the order had been sent. It will be one week tomorrow and still no mri.
Fast forward I found another lump in the same breast but now close to the arm pit. I now have burning throughout that breast. I called the surgeons office because i had not heard anything and the MRI place said they still had no order. So then I the surgeon, they said they were not ordering anything and that I needed to call my pcp. I am pissed so I called GyN but I still have no answers.
WHAt should I do. All I am getting is a hard time. Do I go to the ER?

Ash,
Second opinion? I mean a different doctor/surgeon.

I would call the surgeons office back and find out why they’re not ordering the mri when the surgeon told you face to face that they were. If you can’t get a answer, tell them you’d like to speak to the surgeon or her nurse because this is not what you discussed as next steps in your treatment plan.

Well, her it goes...ended up at a urgent care on Thursday and finally someone listened. The doctor actual found another lump in the left breast and also said that I had swelling in my lymph nodes at the axilla and in my neck on the left side. He ordered a breast mri and I was able to get it the next day.
Was told the results would not be in until Tuesday (4 days later). Got a call from the urgent care that night (last night) and well... left breast noted to have a level 2 bi-rads 2 multiple areas and also noted lymph node envolvement and radiologist recommed clinical follow up, however the right breast noted a bi-rads 4 mass and recommended that a mri guided biopsy be done as soon as possible.
Don’t see the surgeon until the beginning of next month. The urgent care is ordering biopsy’s of all.
What are y’alls thoughts? I am going nuts thinking about everything. I also don’t really understand the mri results.

Dear Ash,
I see you haven't been back in awhile so I am hoping that your scans came back negative for cancer. From what I learned about bi-rads, 4 is highly suspicious, mine was a 4 and it was indeed cancer. I just wanted to say that I am glad you kept fighting to have the lumps looked into, my doctor couldn't feel my lump, but thankfully it was picked up on the mammogram and ultrasound he ordered.
