Comparing 2016 Issues - Present...Thoughts?
In November 2016 after a screening mammogram a suspicious lump was located in my right breast. My breasts are very dense and I was unable to feel the lump. I had additional tests (diagnostic mammogram, ultrasound & fine needle biopsy) I was told that I had a malignancy in my right breast, possibly two malignancies.
I had a lumpectomy, no lump was located but an area of suspicious tissue was removed. The results were negative. Dr said it was an area that we would just "keep an eye on".
Fast forward to today. I recently had a scheduled mammogram and coincidentally located a lump and a fairly large pucker/indentation in the right breast. The mammogram did not pick up on the lump.
I saw the Dr at the breast health clinic, she told me that there was a single, solid/hard lump and ordered an urgent ultrasound which I am having Wednesday.
I checked the reports from 2016 and this is the exact location that the suspicious area was located. In 2016 there was no palpable lump or puckering at this time. This is new.
Although concerned, I believe that it's very possible it is a benign cyst. Based on my history and current symptoms, would you agree?
Your thoughts ...
Thank you

It could honestly be anything. You should have more information after your ultrasound. I see you’re having that on Wednesday, my excisional biopsy is on Thursday & my post op is on the 25th & I’ll get my results then. I know the waiting is hard.

Thanks SBelle... I know you're right, anything ...ugh.
Waiting is the absolute worst part of all of this.
You have biopsy Thursday & lumpectomy on Friday?
-
It sure is.
The entire lump & some surrounding tissue will be removed on Thursday. I have under the muscle implants & very little breast tissue so I’m not able to get a core biopsy unfortunately, but I’m also thankful it will be completely out of me come Thursday.

@southernbelle77 ~ how are you doing? How did your biopsy go?
My US is in 2.5 hours, I am feeling very an

Thanks for thinking of my Daring. My biopsy is tomorrow. Surgery report time is 11:30. Now when I’ll get back into the OR is anyone’s guess. Lol
Good luck at your ultrasound. I hope it proves to be nothing & let me know how it goes!

You are both in our thoughts. Please let us know!

Hi SBelle ...
I won't hear anything for the next day or two but this is what the tech told me:
The lump is located in the centre of the indentation and isn't very deep, quite close to the surface. It is both solid and has some fluid. She showed me and it appears mostly solid with two small areas of fluid. There appears to be flecks inside the lump. The lump itself appeared well defined to me, meaning it didn't "spider" out, that I could see.
She said that the radiologist will compare it to my previous mammograms and ultrasounds and will more than likely request a biopsy.
Any thoughts?
Hopefully I hear something tomorrow. I hope tomorrow goes well for you, let me know!
Carrie
