Last March I was diagnosed with DCIS in the left breast. I had a lumpectomy with large clear margins no other treatment was needed. My 6 month check-up was fine. I had my 1 year mammogram 2 weeks ago and was informed I had a nodule on my right breast and needed an ultrasound. I had the ultrasound 2 days ago I hadn't heard any results so I called yesterday and was told by the nurse that the doctor was presenting my case to the board today to determine what the next step should be and what would be the best treatment for me. I still have not been told anything about my results just that I have mass at 11 o'clock right by the nipple. after going through this last year I'm guessing I will need a biopsy but this is not how it was handled last year. also my mom had breast cancer at age 34 and was a 44 year survivor. I think I'm just a little confused with how this is being handled since the steps are different than last year. I am 50 years old
