Hello! Long story short.. no history of cancer, last mammogram, July 2017, came out normal. Lumpy and dimply right breast for about 2 months. Redness for about 2-3 weeks. Doctor felt a lump and sent me to have an HD mammogram and breast ultrasound. Radiologist (Dr) found a couple of masses. Send me to get a biopsy as soon as possible.

Had my biopsy yesterday, doctor confirmed masses to be "uncertain" and worrisome. Masses are solid and dark, measuring no more than 3 cmm. Skin is getting more dimply and red. Today I feel more pain, due to biopsy, I imagine. I've had some pain for the last couple of weeks, not enough to worry, but the area has definitely been tender.

Ultrasounds and mammogram's report: "irregularly marginated hypoechoic mass with angular margins with the adjacent parenchyma and confluent with the skin" and "Suspicious findings in the right breast including skin thickening and masses in the subareolar and lateral right breast" "ACR BI-RADS Category 4. Suspicious"

I will not hear from patholigst until early next week; I was told. I am so worry and going nuts... can someone identify with my situation? Any feedback, please.

    Hi bobby- sorry you’re here, but here can be a good place. Lots of info, lots of support, and lots of people who understand- the waiting is the worst! Try to stay off Google, it’s not going to help. Nothing is certain until the biopsy comes back. Please keep us posted, hoping for B9 (benign) results for you!

    I understand how difficult the waiting is. Mine initially was over a holiday weekend after a not so good mammogram. I just tried to keep busy with cooking and family and enjoy all the moments as much as possible. Did not tell anyone about the report either. I had to face things the next business day, but also as others will say here, having a plan is helpful once you are able to get an appointment, etc. I know it is easy to say. I feel for you! Also, don’t hesitate to ask for Ativan or other sedative. I found that very helpful. I am sending my positive thoughts for a good result for you

    Birads 4 has about an 80% chance of being benign. Hoping for the very best outcome for you.

    It is good you had it checked quickly. Waiting is hard. Very hard. Keep busy, read, watch brainless TV, keep a journal, cook, clean, walk, and do whatever else you can to pass the time. Let us know how it goes. Hoping for good news for you. Staying away from google is good, unless you know exactly what you're looking for. This site, by far, has the most helpful information, should the news be not what we're all hoping for. The main site has tons of good info, and can help you formulate good questions, even in the case of benign results.

    Bobby,

    Sending you good thoughts, and know you are not alone.  My bi-rads was 4c and then it turned out to be something more often benign, (called a radial scar) I am still waiting on more results and agree with how important it is to give yourself small windows to worry, then keep busy, change the channel, go for walks, and be extra good to yourself.

    Thank you everyone! I received my results today. It is positive for BC. I was diagnosed with Invasive Dust Carcinoma. And referred to an oncologist and breast surgeon. My doctor mentioned that I am positive/responsive for hormonal treatment. Not sure what that means. She also mentioned that it is treatable and curable.

    I guess I should be moving to the next level. I am scared and sad. I have a 7yr old daughter, and I am single mom..

    I'm so sorry about your diagnosis..I just wanted to say that I'm thinking about you, and praying for you and your daughter. I know that there are some supportive and very knowledgeable ladies (and gentlemen) on these boards. This is a great resource. Everyone is here for you.

    Bobby,

    I am so sorry to hear your bad news. However, if the dr said it is curable, I think you caught it at an early stage. Mine was Stage 2 and hormone positive IDC like you. If you have more information about the results, we can help you more. Keep us posted. I finished my 4th of 16 radiation today and I will be done before my summer travels with the kids. I will take hormone meds after and running some tests for that right now. Good luck and you are going to be fine. Nothing to be scared of.

    bobby- So sorry for the news! ☹️ It is scary, especially at first before you have a plan in place. It does get better. And having a young one does add to the fear and sadness for sure. My youngest daughter was one when I was diagnosed. Do you have help nearby?

    Hormone positive is a good thing, your MO (medical oncologist) will probably talk to you about hormone therapy, which is actually anti-hormone therapy.Please keep us posted. We care!

    These first few weeks before you have a plan in place are the hardest. Bring someone to appointments with you, and remember that people WANT to help. Let them. You will be on the other side soon and will be able to help others.
