edited June 2018 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

I am getting on an airplane and got a call that I need to go back in. I can't get in until Friday, so I could really use some feedback/advice on my results:

HISTORY: Screening mammogram.

TECHNIQUE: Full and implant displaced craniocaudal and mediolateral

oblique views of both breasts were obtained utilizing full field

digital mammography. CAD was used to evaluate the current study.

COMPARISON: 3/31/2017 through 7/29/2011.

BREAST COMPOSITION: Heterogeneously dense, which limits the

sensitivity of mammography.

FINDINGS: There is a circumscribed 0.7 cm mass in the subareolar right

breast. This is located at superficial depth, and is 1 cm from the

nipple. No dominant mass, suspicious clustered calcifications, skin

thickening, or architectural distortion are identified in the left

breast. Bilateral subpectoral saline breast implants are noted. CAD

was utilized.

RECOMMENDATION: Right breast ultrasound. Diagnostic right mammogram

to follow if needed.

OVERALL ASSESSMENT: BI-RADS Category 0 - Incomplete, needs additional

imaging evaluation.

They are going to do an ultrasound to see if they can get a better look at the mass in the right breast. they may also want to do what they call a diagnostic mammogram...better more detailed pics basically to see if they can identify the mass in the right. Sounds like the left is good to go. Do not be surprised if they decide to biopsy just to be safe. have a good trip!

Odds are way in your favor it is not cancer, 80% or so. The .7 cm is encouraging, very small. Hope you can enjoy or be productive on your trip (or both.)

Thank you both. I was not sure if I should take this work trip, but I went ahead and I have a follow-up appointment on Friday morning. My mom was in the hospital for 4 straight months this year, so anything medical just stresses me out. Blessings to you both.
