Dysphagia

Dysphagia ,difficulty in swallowing was the well informed side effect by radiation oncologist. It didn't occur then. But one year through diagnosis ,now my wife is having pain during swallowing and constant feeling of something sticking to throat all the time.Does it need to be evaluated ?

Yes, it should be evaluated by an ear, nose, and throat specialist. It may or may not be related to the radiation, but any new symptom like this should be taken seriously.

I had PTSD like symptoms after active treatment ended. My anxiety was so high I felt like I had a lump in my throat. Someone on these boards mentioned Globus Hystericus. It was quite frightening. My PCP evaluated me and felt like it would disappear on its own when my anxiety lessened. My gastroenterologist just thought I was crazy. Once I started to recover from the stress it did go away. Just FYI.

I had such bad gastritis and reflux during chemo that I ended up feeling like I had a permanent lump in my throat as well. My MO put my on Omeprazole and that fixed it fairly quickly. So that's a consideration.
