Both ILC and IDC

I had bilateral cancer. I had ILC 2.5 cm on the right, and IDC on the left. I don't know the size of the left tumor, as there was no evidence of cancer found in my left breast in my post-surgical pathology report. Apparently, the needle biopsy got it all! I was told my prognosis is based on the larger tumor, in my case the ILC and the IDC doesn't count.

I was also offered genetic testing, as bilateral cancer is relatively rare. It came back that I have a mutation in the PALB2 gene.

Your cancers were found at an early stage, so your prognosis should be very good. Best wishes to you.
