    Hi All,

Bit about me I'm 35 healthy and have PCOS.....terrible googler of symptoms...

I found a lump in my breast and have had my ultrasound scan here in Perth Tuesday.

Results came back Wednesday and showed the following-

3cm lump at 9oclock I'm right breast with irregular borders. Enlarged lymph node shown also.

I am going for biopsy on lymph node and lump Tuesday as well as a mammogram

I'm petrified, frightened lonely ( all my family are back in the UK apart from my husband)...but also wondering could a lump with irregular borders be benign?

My nurse said it is a highly suspicious lump but I'm trying to be positive and have a glimmer of hope that it isn't

Also my husband cried when we came out of the nurse Wednesday as he wasn't expecting them too say the word cancer how have other people's DH been ?

I’m lucky in Australia hat they are on to it extremely quickly so it’s a positive

Hi there and I'm sorry about the stressful results. Do you have a copy of your ultrasound report? One of the medical professionals on this site had posted a list of "bad" and "good" terms if that helps. And yes it could still be benign so try to stay optimistic. Here's the list:

GOOD: Oval; parallel; circumscribed; anechoic; hyperechoic; isoechoic; posterior enhancement or good through-transmission; avascular; macrocalcifications include pop corn, large rod like, rim, milk-of-calcium.

BAD: Irregular; non-parallel (can also be written as "taller-than-wide"); not-circumscribed margins includes indistinct, angular, microlobulated, and spiculated; hypoechoic; posterior shadowing; architectural distortion; internal vascularity; microcalcifications including amorphous, coarse heterogeneous, branching, fine pleomorphic.

    Best wishes.
