Micromet .35mm in one node, treatment?

Well, I had a 1.5cm nodule removed and it came back as ER PR+ HER2-. I was shocked because I am a guy and everyone assumed that it was benign. I had a right breast mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy done last week. The surgeon said my nodes looked great but wait for final pathology. I get a call two days after surgery with the news of a single micro met of .35mm in one node only. So my oncotype score was requested and I am on the sidelines for two weeks waiting on it to return so that I can have productive meetings with Oncologist. Anyone with similar diagnosis willing to share what treatment they elected to follow.

I had a 2.5 cm lump with micromets in my second sentinel node. (First one clear). My oncotype came back at 12 so no chemo. I got 3 different opinions that said rads risk outweigh benefit, maybe since it was left breast. I am 3 years out, so hopefully I made the right choices. Good luck and let us know when you receive Oncotype score.

i've had a similar diagnosis Positive Mojo. A higher stage and more positive nodes, and even more similar in that I'm a guy.

Obviously your medical team will be deciding whether you also need chemo and radiation. Keep us posted when you get your onco type score.

Currently I'm four years post treatment and there have no evidence of the disease.

    Best of luck to you.

Hi positive mojo- my final pathology also came back with a positive node, but my Oncotype was 14, so I skipped chemo. I did have radiation to chest wall and all nodes though. Cancer is full of sucky decisions, but we make the best choices we can with the info we have. Good luck to you!
