Did you all get the itchy crazies after surgery? Places that are numb are itchy?

yes!!! Drives me nuts. I think its scar tissue tightening around left new, replaced implant where I had capsular cotracture. No bra and lots of massaging helps

Oh my gosh yes! After my BMX I could not figure out why I was itching so much. Nerve reactions and numbness wearing off. It drove me crazy but it did subside after a few days

Vagisil cream helps with these itchies in seconds. It’s active ingredient is 20% benzocaine. There is nothing in it that treats a yeast infection - its for skin irritation and itch. In fact it’s the same ingredients that were in Lanacane cream (which is no longer distributed in the US in favor of hydrocortisone cream). Name brand and Walmart brand work great. Target brand’s consistency was different and wouldn’t completely rub in. Wishing quick relief for you!!

lula73: good to know! I’ll give it a try. So weird how I get an itch, go to scratch and realize the area is numb

How is it possible to be itchy and numb at the same time? Very bizarre feeling

top most layers of skin have damaged nerves and numbness but the underlying layers still have feeling.

Yes,,,but glad to say it has gotten immensely better. I still get occasional boob itchies, but nothing like it was the first few months.

I think part of the post surgery itching, is the nerves coming back. I am getting more feeling and the itching is subsiding. We'll see how it plays out though. Because as you all have likely discovered, this journey is day to day sometimes. Each minute brings a new concern, question, issue, surprise, "ah hah!" and so on. On it goes...
