Hello. Thank you all for reading. I am breaking down every two days even though I do not know anything yet. Once I tested positive for BRCA gene and my mother had cancer at 45 (I am 39), my doctors have been aggressive. I just got my 2nd mammogram results yesterday. Radiologist showed me all these macrocalcifications and now I will get MRI and biopsy on both breasts. I am just very scared. My husband has not been reacting or really talking to me about anything. I know he cares, but I feel alone. I am scared of the biopsy and having to make decisions even if all comes back normal --I am approved for prophylactic surgery because of my gene giving me a high percentage of getting breast cancer. Can anyone relate to any of this?

I did not test positive for the gene, despite my sister having bc at age 35. But I do know the agony of waiting for results. Best wishes and

    Hi WorriedPotentialPatient,

Yes, I can relate totally. I tested BRAC 1 positive and enhanced diagnostics began right away. I had an MRI as a baseline which was clear but then a year later a suspicious mass showed up. So getting the testing done on schedule is very important. Hopefully, your calcifications are benign. It is scary but sounds like your doctor is on top of this. For me, joining this website has been a tremendous support through the whole process. Let us know when you get your biopsy results back.
