hi Mum!
-
Just blooming
-
view from the Potala Palace in Lhasa Tibet
-
lots of beautiful spring flowers here in Tibet this week. Will be heading home from the orient on Monday. How have you been feeling Elizabeth? Are you walking better now
-
I took all these flower shots in China this week.
-
-
Mumito, I've always wanted to see Lhasa. I suspect that I couldn't go there with my altitude sickness problems. I had problems in Vail, CO, which is much much lower.
-
Mum. Slowly getting better with the walking.
Love the pix.
-
yes the Altitude here can be a problem but my DH and I adjusted well. We knew from our trip to Cusco Peru that we would be ok.
-
Took this shot this morning on our birding walk before leaving Tibet. The Potala Palace.
-
The air seems so clear, Mum. What a special place 😊

Love the pics from China, Mum.
Lisa, I love, love , love those yellow roses and of course thrilled to see a Monarch. I saw one today too but the milkweeds are no where ready to bloom yet.
This little lady was defending her turf.

It amazes me how different the underside can look from the top. Their wings are so thin and delicate. I love the butterfly exhibit at the science center.
-
living butterflies 😊

Mumito, Lisa, Nancy. . .i just caught up on all of your pics. They are amazing. I have missed y'all. Been out of action, except for work, for a couple of months dealing with nerve pain. Still doing photography when I can. Still trying to catch the Lun twins (our current twin pandas) outside together. This pix is our mama panda Lun Lun outside in a water feature. She was soooo cute splashing around but only got in for a minute or so.

Scottie, what a precious pic. I'm sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with nerve pain. That is NO fun. Hope you are finding some solutions.

Gorgeous pic, Lisa.

We had bad storms this weekend and the result was a woodpecker had a nest of babies in this dead branch of a tree on the side of my house which is a city tree. The branch blew down in the storm and the babies were left unprotected in what remained of the branch still attached. I held the little male Downy woodpecker which was stranded on the ground and scared to death. With the help of a neighbor with my ladder got it back in with the other two. The next day after another bad storm the little male was no where to be seen but the two sisters were out of the nest and one on the ground almost in the street. I ran out of the house and got that one and put it on the trunk of the tree. The little male was nowhere to be seen but the two females I hope made it. The parents were still in the tree with them. Today all gone. I hope they made it.
Here are the the two baby females peeking out of the branch. I have no idea how they survived in all the storms.
Here is the little male (below) that I put back with the others.
I hope they all flew away and survived. It was such a treat getting to hold a couple of them.

awww, so sweet
-
Joanne, could those flowers be dianthus?
What a cute little family! What kind of birds are they?
-
They do look like dianthus.

I braved the awful heat wave yesterday and took this pic of this cute bird. I didn't realize until looking it up that this is a Killdeer.
It did not appreciate the photo shoot. LOL
-
Great shots! I've never seen one before.
-
We have them around here too
-
Thanks Wren.
Yes, Lisa, I had heard them but never seen one up close. They have very interesting eyes and they have a very cute walk.
-
Ready, set, GO
