Hi ladies! I started out a little over 2 weeks ago with a red blotch about the size of an eraser splotch on my right breast. It persisted so 12 days ago I had a biopsy. A dermatologist did a shave biopsy I believe. Anyway, today she called me with the results. She said it was a benign inflamed skin area... Possibly a mole or skin tag which I don't remember having before. My question is this... Did anyone have a false negative report like this and it was still IBC? I want to believe the report so badly and go on with my life but I'm still having itchiness. I realize all the bandages and the biopsy itself will itch. I just want to make sure it's not inflammatory breast cancer. I also saw breast surgeon after the biopsy and showed her a picture on my phone. She also looked over my breast and took an ultrasound and she did not believe it was IBC. I may sound like a crazy person but I've heard horror stories of being diagnosed after going too many doctors. I know all of this sounds like good news but I just wanted to make sure that a benign inflamed skin area didn't sound like what anyone went through? I'm not even sure what would cause an inflamed skin area like what I had. It started out light pink and got really angry red but it never grew. I would appreciate any input.

Thanks!!!! 💗

You have multiple answers on your other thread. Yes, you should believe your biopsy

Your biopsy results say benign, and that means your biopsy is benign and NOT cancer. That's great news! Congratulations.

It sounds like you have a lot of anxiety about this. Anxiety is serious and needs treatment too. It's NOT cancer--you know that now--so it looks like your next area of concern is anxiety. I hope you can find relief from this as well. Take care!

    Thank you Melissa Dallas!

Thanks Okkate! Yes I have horrible anxiety and have been on anti-anxiety meds for 15 years but recently it's gotten worse. I just started seeing a therapist last week so hopefully that treatment will help me and I can try to forget about all my health anxiety.
