    hi all,

i had exchange oct of last year, i still feel heaviness and the implants feel plastered to my chest especially the left one... my neck hurts at the end of the day. i also have frozen shoulders but getting better now.. my ortho says my neck pain is from the heavy implants..i really dont want another surgery but i honestly dont think i can live like this for the rest of my life. its either i do revision or just remove them and just wear lightweight breastforms... for those who have had implants removed, how does the skin feel after explantation? did your PS remove the capsule? did your skin felt plastered to your chest? any tightness?thanks in advance

    Hi

I just had my implant removed due to an infection. It was not a choice. I can answer you though, regarding shoulder issues before and after implant. I had the standard under the pec placement, once my implant was in, I started having major shoulder issues. I went through months of physical therapy when I was told by my PS his collegue could do a pre-pectoral surgery. That surgery eliminated my shoulder pain. I no longer had neck issues, frozen shoulder etc. I was pretty relieved and thought I could start more of a normal life. Unfortunately for me, I developed an infection and recently had my implant removed. Since that surgery, my shoulder pain has again intensified. I have no implant, just flat with stitches. I also have intermittent cramping under my arm and on my chest. The implant removal was my fourth surgery. The doctors don't tell us about the pain the mastectomy will cause. I think we just have to keep up with excercises and physical therapy for the rest of our lives. I also think it is very important to find a good breast cancer/lymphadema certified physical therapist. I had a couple of physical therapists who treated me as a basic frozen shoulder patient, they actually made my pain and my condition much worse. I needed lymphatic release and massage, to help make things better. Once that was done and corrected, I could move to excercises. Best of luck to you.
