I am 1 yr post diagnosis/lumpectomy(s)/radiation and just last week started having shooting pain under the nipple....intermittent not constant. I just had an MRI a few weeks ago and all was negative (and I don't feel any lumps). Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, whenever I go too hard at the gym with upper body exercise...and I’m 4.5 years out. Your clear MRI is a comfort and I do know that nerve repair can take a very long time. If it continues and is worrisome you could talk to your MO to investigate further.

Thank you, I have my 3 mo follow-up on Monday and will mention it, but as we all know, unless you have been through it it's hard to explain.

I get weird sensations that come and go. All they say is "sorry" when I mention it in appointments.

I had excruciating nerve pain during the tissue expander stage of my reconstruction. It was a shooting hot sharp pain that came at random times. I wasn't sleeping and it was affecting my treatment. I saw my oncologist and she said to go to the lymphedema specialist at the hospital. Every week I went for treatment to break up the scar tissue that was adhering to the nerves. She manually broke down the areas and slowly but surely the pain went away! No drugs needed. I would reccomend a consult to a lymphedema specialist to anyone with nerve pain.
