Had my mammo and u/s today. The mammo was a piece of cake. U/s hurt near the area where my lump is. I know she had to push a bit harder in that area hence why it likely hurt. She spent about 30 min on the u/s and my arm ended up going numb from holding it over my head. Im glad its done....now the wait continues! The waiting is honestly brutal!

hello, I hope everything goes well for you! I could imagine how you feel. I’m getting my core needle biopsy this coming Thursday. I’m 43 years old and they found a 1.2 cm mass in my right breast. I have had pain in my breast for about 3 months now. I’m terrified. I hope your results come back benign. Sending you a big hug.

I'll join you ladies in this forum. I had DCIS back in 2013 and have had normal mammograms every year since. Until Monday (5/7/18). And damn --a triple whammy - 2 areas of masses in the L breast, where I had DCIS before, and an area of calcifications in the R breast. So now I need 2 US guided biopsies on the L and a stereotactic core needle biopsy on the right. Having been thru all this before, I'm aware that the waiting is the worst of it. I've had a sick feeling in my stomach for two days now and the docs are taking forever to just write an order so I can schedule the biopsies. My rational brain says "you don't know anything yet; do worry" but still my emotional brain is debating whether to have breast reconstruction after the double mastectomy I'm sure to need... Hard to avoid thinking the worst.

I know that the least little abnormality in the biopsy results will prompt a call for a lumpectomy...and the pathology from that will be more definitive. So lots of waiting ahead. All I can say is: plan on being stressed and plan for a slower pace if you can. Get some exercise and stay busy. UGH. this all seems so unfair.

Dr called me earlier. Said the lump they were looking at is B9 which is great news however she wants more imaging done because there are more spots they need to look at closer. She said i have fibrocystic breat disease. So now I need to educate myself on that. Still waiting to hear from the receptionsit with an appt for another mammo/us

Rimroc- agreed its so hard to not let your mind wander to dark places. Working alot has been such a savior during all of this

Yay for benign! Fibrocystic breast disease is way better than breast cancer. Hope your other imaging goes smoothly.
