BACKGROUND

Hi, I posted here a couple a weeks ago with my BIRADS 4b diagnostic mammogram results, that sent me to another mammogram and an ultrasound, I needed a biopsy... They did it in my right breast in the mass they found at 1:00 position... after the longest wait the nurse called me to say it was normal and just after insisting she just told me it was an adenoma... Obviously I went happy, excited mode....

( from the

Also, in the last year I lost around 50 lb and four years ago had a pregnancy and have tons of stretch marks in stomach, arms, breast, etc...

YESTERDAY

I was changing and notice when I raised my arms that in the same right breast, but at 8:00 position, closer to the armpit/ base to the breast, A DIMPLE the size is smaller than a pencil eraser, can only be seen in certain positions of my arms... I just panicked and explode crying, again all those worries and thoughts flooded me... Now I dont know what to do, going back with my primary care physician? get another u/s, mammo? I don't know if this dimple was there when I had my first diagnostic mammo 28 days ago... what are the chances they missed it in the same breast where they found this suspicious mass, only on the oposite side, closer to the chest wall.

UPDATE: Went to speak with the Woman's center tech and she showed me the mammo from a month ago, is an area pretty much clear, you can see just a few thin lines and two tiny calcifications... Everything else is "empty" on that side and You can see on the other side of the same breast the concerned area that was biopsied a couple of weeks ago (fibroadenoma)

She saw my breast and dimple and even though she is not a doctor, she told me that for her look like a stretch mark... when I move my arm in certain way it squeezes the area and you can see several marks sorrounding that area, like the dimple that squeeze too and form another linear mark... I asked her what would she do in my position and she said she would keep an eye on any change or growth...

Can I have some of your wisdom advices please!!! Thank you so much!!!

Hey ctbaker! I hate that you’re going through this but just wanted to give you some re-assurance. I too had a dimple in my breast. I’m talking as big as a 50 cent piece. I had a clear ultrasound and a clear diagnostic mammogram. I’ve also had it checked by several doctors, (I honestly think I have a touch of health anxiety 😬), most recently a breast cancer doctor, and she assured me that it’s nothing to worry about. She said sometimes changes happen in our breasts that are totally normal but it’s always a good idea to get them checked. I would do as the tech suggests and just keep an eye on it. I hope this helps and wish you the best!!

Have you ever noticed when you cut yourself and the cut is healing, the edges are puckering? That happens inside your breast after a biopsy. It is entirely possible there is a tiny bit of puckering/tethering occurring which is tugging the tissues and could conceivably tug just enough for the dimple to show in certain positions. Sort of like undercurrents in rivers-you can't always see them but they can tug you under the water. (The mighty Mississippi is an unbelievably dangerous river for that kind of thing.) I would advise to have a friend good at taking pictures see if they can capture the best image of it. When enough time has gone by, take another picture and compare the pictures.

I hope this reassures you.... In 2016 I discovered a linear dimple in my breast. Ran to my GYN. and she sent me off for a mammogram/ultrasound, totally clear. I wasn't reassured (I have bad health anxiety) and saw a surgeon, he concluded it was nothing, stretched ligaments from having kids/nursing (I was 31 at the time). I was still not reassured so I begged for a breast MRI, had that, 100% clear. Ok moving on to a few months later, felt a lump in the same breast but different area, had it checked and biopsied, scar tissue, totally benign. That biopsy created a hematoma in my breast which as a result left me with yet another dimple. Dr. confirmed it was from the biopsy. 18 months later, its still there I hope that helps!
