21 Years Old | 3 Masses - biopsy next week.

Hi everyone, my name is Liv and I’m 21 years old. About 3 months ago I noticed I small (about 3 cm) lump inside of my left breast. Immediately I was concerned, but considering that I already had an (unrelated) appointment with my PCP scheduled... I continued on with my daily life. Two weeks later my PCP ordered an ultrasound, which I unfortunately missed due to sick step children. It didn’t happen over night but from here I completely blew off the lump as “unimportant” and “definitely a just cyst anyway”. I mean... I’m only 21 right?

Fast forward to last week, laying in bed. I won’t lie and say that there aren’t points in my day that I don’t enjoy just touching my own breasts - luckily (or unluckily maybe) this act lead into into a self exam... where I felt two more, smaller lumps. The next morning I rescheduled my ultrasound and there they were.

I have three lumps ranging in size from about 1.2 - 3.4cm and two swollen lymph nodes.... and now I am officially scared. They haven’t given me any indication of whether they believe it’s cancer or not, but we have scheduled a CN biopsy for the 16th. I do wish I would have followed through we the initial evaluation... goes to show that age doesn’t always mean something

    {HUGS} I am so sorry you have found yourself here. My thoughts are with you in hopes that this turns out to be fibroids or cysts. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

    Fortunately, your age is in your great favor. The risk of BC in a 21yr old is infinitesimally small, as to be virtually non-existant. Not that it could never happen, but the odds against cancer are enormous, around 99.99%. I know you're scared but try to hold on to what you know to be true--there are unidentified lumps AND your risk is extremely small. It is far more likely to be something BENIGN. Let us know how it goes. Maybe post your US report when you get a chance.
