Going for 2nd mammo...not sure if I trust dr

After the MRI saw the tumor, I was sent for an Ultrasound and the Radiologist told me that he couldn't find it. I got the report later with more information but at least I knew it didn't show up on US. For the MRI, ob/gyn doctor called me the next day.

I’m new to all this and stumbled across this board. I’m 35 and have been getting mammo/ultrasounds for the last 5 years. I’m high risk. Mom, Aunt and two grandma’s had BC. We have a Chek2 mutation in our family and I don’t have the gene, but I I do have dense breast tissue.

So long story.....starred having breast pain in October 2017. They watched and waited every 3 months with ultrasound. Now here I am after I begged to get MRI (I got two weeks ago). Meanwhile, I’m sick lost 7 pounds and was put in hospital. I get out last Monday and breast radiologist calls and tells me MRI showed assymetry(so?). So tomorrow morning I go and get another MRI and biopsy of right breast. wish me luc

Good luck to all of you! Waiting is such a scary time. I will say that they didn't tell me much after my mammograms and I got copies of the reports but they didn't have all the info until my diagnosis (that's when they gave me the full reports)- my hospital has the ability to only release some parts to patients and that's what they did. When they called me back for my second mammogram, they said I would have a diagnostic mammogram with possible ultrasound and the radiologist would talk to me that day. He did talk to me and didn't do the ultrasound because he said they saw new calcifications and wanted a biopsy regardless of the results of the ultrasound so it wasn't worth it. I had the biopsy the following week and was scheduled to go in and get the results 2 days later and that's when I was given my diagnosis. Some people find out at different points, but unfortunately there may be a lot of waiting and there was a chance at every point for me that it was going to come back clear. I kept reading between appts. and finding people who ended up on both sides, so keep in mind that having several appts. doesn't mean it's bad news. It's a hard time though!

Just got home. Radiologist says the few tiny calcium deposits I have are not concerning. They want to keep an eye on them though since this was my first mammogram. They want to make sure they don't change. Will go back in 6 months.

Will discuss with my gyno. Rad says she doesn't recommend biopsy, but second opinions never hurt if I am feeling anxious.

Hi, I'm new to all of this and I could possibly be worried for no reason. I'm hoping someone could shed a little light.

I'm 42 and just had my first mammo in April 2018. The report states findings of

- Multiple regional calcification with associate focal asymmetries in the left breast. Dense tissue I assume.

- Grouped calcification present within the outer quadrant of the right breast with associated focal asymmetries.

I return in May 9th for what I assume is an ultrasound. Not clear if it's a second mammo or not. They all talk really fast and when getting news like this while driving really didn't help. I called my PCP and of course she was out of town. The screening place directed me back to the PCP.

I finally had contact with my PCP and she stated these finding are "normal", but be sure to go to my scheduled appointment on May 9th.

I've had breast tenderness for months. Almost like menstrual tenderness, but I no longer have those. The tenderness is pretty bad, that I dread ever taking my bra off.

Anyhow... I guess I was hoping to find others that may shed some light on any of this.
