Anyone has subpec implants redone to prepec?

I have issues with my subpec implants. Lots of tightness and the constant feeling of having a bra on. Plus I have failed fat grafting on lower pole which deformed the breast (so need to do some kind of surgery to fix them). Doctor offered to switch to top of muscle. He said in the past 3 years standards changed and now almost all new reconstruction with implants are done on top of the chest muscle. I am at large hospital in the area with lots of surgeons. This new doc is known for DIEP but I am not a candidate. I'm worried because he said he has only done 5 "Change of plane" surgeries. I should expect lots of pain from chest muscle being sutured back down in place. May have relief from some tightness and the muscle deformation when I flex. BUT will likley have huge upper poles ridges (fake boob look) and more ripples if I do change them to top of the muscle. Said fat grafting can help but I'm not looking forward to doing that again.

Anyone on here done this surgery? Can you share your experience? Was it worth it? Was it painful? Are you more comfortable now? Did you fat graft and did it work?

Thank you.

I did the surgery in September. There was not a whole lot of pain. The fat grafting was partially successful with that surgery and second round done in December was fully successful.

The only problem I have now is an unsightly dent on my abdomen and one on my right outer thigh from the second round fat harvest. Waiting to see what the PS says about those next month.

Otherwise, the implants look and feel good. I'm glad I did it.

veggal. Just wondering what the indication for the revision was? I just had my exchange surgery a couple of weeks ago, sub pec, and although I am so happy the TE are out, there is still so much weird animation when I use my arms. I do want to be done with surgery, and I never gave my breasts much thought. I like them, but wouldn’t have ever had any plastic surgery. Now I want to move on, but they just look so weird when I use my arm.

Well, I hated my first implants...Natrelle 410's (textured teardrops). There was a fair amount of asymmetry and they were wide and drifting toward my armpits. By the time I finally did the revision (4 surgeons and 16 months later) I also knew about the ALCL risk with textured implants and also had capsular contracture of both implants. It was kind of a "no brainer" at that point to do the revision and my surgeon talked me into going pre-pec. It was a good decision.
