Sleepless and don’t even know what to ask...

Hi All,

It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted here but I recall the support and community so I’m going to share that I’m terrified.

Had my 6-month appt with MO last Thursday. Living a crazy busy life right now so just a routine appt, right? Well I’ve been experiencing deep, achy pain in my upper arm (humerus) for several months on and off, lately constant and interrupts my sleep. It’s my dx side and I have a history of mild lymphedema so didn’t dwell or worry much, besides, I’ve been busy! Plus, last year I had surgical removal of two tiny lumps on chest wall and a curious area of tissue (same side) —> all negative.

Well, I shared the pain symptom with MO, he felt both arms and asked if I’d had an injury or strain (no). And, without a pause, said, “Let’s get you in for a bone scan.”

!!! He’s always been hesitant in the past to jump at testing or scans, though he’s not averse to checking. His reaction just seemed odd, more concerned? Maybe I’m reading into it.

Anyway, scan isn’t until May 1 and my mind can’t relax.

I’m also worried about hypercalcemia — fatigue, touch of nausea, bubbles in urine (of course I’mjust attending to these symptoms now).

I’m just really, really scared! Hubby is the only one who knows about the upcoming scan but doesn’t “get” my fears :(

Thanks for “listening”

    Oh Lynn,

    {HUGS}

Hopefully it's just the lymphedema causing you issues. Look up something called Peri Spray, that spray removed the lymph fluid build up from my incision site, this was after having it drained 2 times and suffering in pain from the swelling.

My GP sent me for a head CT because I had a headache for a week straight. I figured it was my sinus and the weather. It came back negative for any issues. I think once we have cancer a good doctor doesn't mess around just in case.

Good luck and keep "talking" it will help and we are here for you.

    Cheryl

Thanks, Cheryl! I need to stay positive right now and just try to be patient (not my forte). Is the spray you mentioned something typically used postpartum? If so, I actually have some essential oils and might just make some :)

Rambo50...so sorry you are going through this. Although I'm not a doctor, I am a RN. IMO it sounds like it is related to lymphedema. I know it can be a terrible SE of treatment. Try to stay busy and spend time with loved ones until you have the bone scan. Good luck and keep us posted.

Sorry you have to wait so long to have the scan. Waiting sucks. Do keep us posted.

Lynn it is the same stuff used for postpartumn, one of the oils (Helichrysum) is suppose to be good for getting your body to absorb the fluid apparently. I really hope it works for you!! xxx

Thanks y'all! I appreciate the kind words and advice... waiting DOES suck

Crazy how life seems to go into "hold" mode until it feels safe to move forward.
