I am so sorry to hear about your leg, Kim. That must have been frightening. I hope you are getting lots and lots of pampering. You sure deserve it.

We got back from Boston last night. Those kitties are so sweet! I had a wonderful time with my daughter, but it was so short! I didn't have time for swimming or anything like that. It was wonderful being near my girl.

    Love to all, Anna

Debbie - wow...did you have the sleep disorder before bc treatments or is this caused by the treatments? What do they recommend you do? My DH has sleep apnea and stops breathing in his sleep. It's very scary. He is supposed to wear an oxygen mask to sleep but does not like it. Most of the times he ends up sleeping in the guest bedroom because his snoring is extremely loud. Not fun...

Kim - I'm so sorry you have to go through this now. Geeze...someone needs to cut you some slack. Glad to see you are handling it with a sense of humor.

Margerie - Glad to hear you were able to receive the vaccine. Are there any SE's?

Anna - Short trip but sounds like you really enjoyed the time with your daughter.

Hope everyone is having a good week. Love and hugs,

Oh Kim! I'm so sorry, just one more thing. Glad there was no break.

News from the bone scan was good, nothing showed up. Now I just have to wait for the CT to be read.

I hope all is well there too. I hate waiting on test results. The weekend seems long that way.

We are getting ready for the Superbowl on Sunday. Michael is off the whole weekend.

I got concert tickets for him today to see Sugarland ( He loves Jennifer Nettles, does the song with Bon Jovi Who says's you can't go back)and Little Big Town.(Country music) It is his Valentines gift for being the very best mate a gal could have.

Maybe Bon Jovi will show up....LOL

We will see it in Roanoke tomorrow at 8pm. He has been talking about it all week. Hasn't a clue I got the tickets today. I love being sneaky

Well I need to run, got things to do, like SLEEP! I'm really beat. Got up at 4 am to go to work. Haven't had my nap

    Love to you all

Margerie, you are so brave. I can remember the days back when Cory's room was a mess beyond words. When he went to the Army, I wanted to be a fly on the wall so bad.

He was a "stick it all in the closet" type of cleaner when he lived at home. And when I checked behind him, after taking just a short time Hmmmmm. I would open the closet door and it all fell out. He would be so mad , then I would stand in the door and watch till he finished it the way he should.

I think Sebastian may have to deal with this later on.

Amazing what they can do when they have to. His wife was fussing about his clothes last night.
(I had to go see the baby

I told her to lay down the law, he isn't a child. She has one to take care of, she doesn't need two.

I told her it was his Dads fault. LOL We had a good laugh out of that one.

Anna- Glad you had a good visit. I know how you love the kitties.

Hope everyone is warm, it's not to bad tonight. Back up to 36 degrees. Which feels like a heat wave after this past week. The wind chill has been as low as zero and below here in the mountains.

We need some rain, it has been very dry here. No ice, just rain.

Well , I'm gone again. Love to you all.

Hi everyone! I am still having computer problems from time to time and haven't been able to post. Plus problems with memory, fatigue, and work scheduling.
Because of the memory issue, I had a CT scan (unenhanced)a few weeks ago that showed "something". So then I had to go for an MRI that also showed "something", so now I have to go for an enhanced CT scan on Feb. 12. The Dr. said no signs of any tumor but perhaps its a calcification in the basal ganglia. So I've been trying to research that!

Kim - Sorry to hear about your leg/hip problems. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Margerie - What a great service you are doing for all women by being a part of that study. Best wishes!

Anna - Glad to hear that you had a good visit with your daughter, her husband, AND the kittens.

Debbie - sounds like you have so much going on! And now a move - TAKE CARE!

Mary Lou - Did I ever congratulate you on becoming a grandmother again? Being a grandma is the greatest! And thanks for the chicken/salsa recipe - sounds good for Super Bowl Sunday.

Odalys - temps are sub-zero here today. Add on the wind chill and BRRRRRR!! Thank you for always having such kind words, well wishes, and hugs. (My birthday is Oct. 30)

One more thing I would like to share with all of you. Its the word, sisu.
"Sisu is a unique Finnish concept. It stands for the philosophy that what must be done will be done, regardless of what it takes. Sisu takes special strength and persistent determination and resolve to continue and overcome in the moment of adversity....a combination of stamina, perserverance, courage and determination held in reserve for the hard times. My "November sisters" have shown such sisu during these past few months!!

    Hugs and prayers for all,

    Hi LAT56,
I'm glad you checked in, I've been wondering how your are doing. Sorry to hear about your memory issues and that you are having to deal with the fear of more testing again. I do hope all turns out okay for you. Please keep us posted. Meantime, here is a song to lift your spirits and warm you on such chilly weather.

On a lighter note, South Florida had record high temps yesterday. Several cities broke a record dating back to 1902. Miami tied the record at 87 degrees. I sure hope is cooler tomorrow for the Super Bowl.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

We love the superbowl- but can't decide who to route for this year. We lived in Chicago and like the Bears, but the Colts have a player with our last name- can you guess? Anyway, hope it is a good game.

I made it through the playroom. Found my bleach squirt bottle (use when mopping the floors) under the table in there. A palm sized bleach spot- that ate a hole in the carpet (brand new house)- I cut it out and glued down another piece and you can' even tell. Didn't know I had this talent.

Next Friday is my nip surgery. We are going skiing a week later- hope everything heals fast. Or I can sit by the fire and read in peace since DH is a pro at taking the three kids anywhere (the slopes) by himself.

My friend with the colon cancer had his surgery and it turned out it was in his nodes- so now he is waiting for chemo and radiation. Boy, what a flashback. He is doing well and says he is just missing a "foot of tailpipe". It is interesting and tragic reading up on colon cancer- a lot of young people are misdiagnosed, and then it is found at a more advanced stage. Reminds me a bunch of bc. They also have the cutting edge treatments now- better chemo and monoclonal antibodies (like herceptin, called something else).

The summation of all this is: CANCER SUCKS!

I like sisu. We have a lot of sisu here!

Have a great week everyone- working on your tan Odalys?

Count down to the big game! Ok, here is the latest from the super bowl front...

Weather is in the 60's...beautiful night. Many, many parties going on tonight both in South Beach and Hollywwod Beach. Food tasting parties - the convention center has been transformed with NFL chefs who are all preparing their favorite dishes to raise money for the food bank- a favorite seems to be "Pink shrimp pasta". There are also drinks, drinks, drinks. Multi million $$$$ "let's go crazy" jets for all those "celebs" arriving on the red carpet. Many, many, concerts...from KC and the Sunshine band to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. One hotel has been transformed for a Playboy bash. Artist Romero Brito designs are everywhere (you will see his art in all costumes tomorrow). Lot's of skinny cheerleaders wearing very skimpy bikinis. Lots of fire works!!!

Geeze...I'm so excited and I'm not even a football fan. I have the best view from the best seat ever...my couch. Keep you posted!

We've had a high temp of -4 today. Now the temps are dropping again. Wind chill is -25!! BUT....I'm having a hot flash right now so it seems likes its 105!! LOL

My 8 year old grandson is a big Chicago Bear fan so its fun seeing him excited about this year's Super Bowl. I bought him a NFC championship t-shirt that I'm sure he'll be wearing today!! I hope its a good game - I especially like all of the pregame stories.

Hope everyone has a great week.

My dear sisu-sister lat56, I am sorry to hear you have to do the going-in-for-testing-dance once again. I hope everything goes well, the tests are gentle, and your results are good. I hope your memory issues are simply related to all the difficulties you have been through this past year plus. I am sending you positive, healthy vibes!

Yep, it's superbowl party time. Participants: hubs and me. Program: he watches the game, I play in my sewing room, he calls me every time there is an ad and I come running, flop on the bed, and watch the ad. Then up and back to my sewing room for fun and it all starts over again.

My daughter and her hubs are going to a non-superbowl party. Hmmm. Not sure what that's all about.

The kitties were awesome; their names are Astrid and Ursula. At least my daughter is getting some of the weird names out of her system. She and her hubby are thinking of starting a family, so names are being thrown around and I'm holding my breath. Some of those names are real doozies.

Margerie, it's great that you were able to save the carpet situation. I love how clever we can be. The thing I like best about quilting is seeing how creative women have been with so little to work with. You give them scraps and they create art.

I am sorry to hear about the friend with colon cancer. Yes, it's very scary.

Kim, I hope you aren't freezing too badly. I hear we are in for some awfully cold days this coming week.

Odalys, soak in those rays for all of us, please.

    Mary Lou, how was Sugarland?

Debbie, how are you doing? How did you know there was something going on with your sleep?

I love you all and send lots of hugs,

    Anna

    Hi sisters,
Bummer about all the rain today. I can't remember the last time it rained all day like today. There was so much hype (sp?) before the game and then for it to rain like this, sad. Poor folks who paid so much money to see the game and spent 6 hours under the rain.

Did you all like the opening act? I really enjoyed all the colors and the salsa dancing...so Miami. The opening was way better than the half time show. JMO. I like Prince but wasn't impressed with the show. Oh well, need to get to bed cause tomorrow is a work day.

Kim- hope you are feeling better.

Deb - I miss seeing you on the boards. Are you still moving and where to? Hope Daniel is doing good.

Lat56 - Sorry Da Bears lost. Hope your grandson is not too dissapointed. They played a good game. There is always next year.

Margerie - Sorry about your friend. CA sucks!!!

Mary Lou - How are you and Sebastian doing?

Anna - It's always good to read your posts, such love.

Kaye - I miss seeing you on this board.

Well I better get off, the Ambien is quicking in and I don't know what I'm writing anymore. Tomorrow, I'll read it and think...I wrote that? Weird how this drug affects the mind

    Good night dear sisters.

Hey sisters! Gotta go to bed, but I wanted to let you know I missed you. I'm sorry to hear about some of the bad luck (Kim and LAT56), and will continue to keep you in my prayers!
Yes, we are moving, and life is INSANE. Moving when I was young and single was fun and exciting. Moving as an older Mommy is exhausting and stressful! Yes, there is an element of excitement in there, too!

I'm sick. I've been fighting a wretched cough for a week now. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow cuz I can't stand it anymore! I'm supposed to be teaching a Kindermusik class and have no voice!

As for the sleep thing, I used to sleep like a baby before I was dx. with bc. Once I started AC I began the sleep issues. Now, I struggle each night and dread bedtime.

I love you all! Time for my Ambien! Amen to the "did I do that?" thing. Ambien does that to me each night! Greg often tells me of my crazy antics after taking Ambien.
    Love and prayers, Deb

My issue isn't falling asleep but staying there beyond 4 a.m. or so. Usually I try to go through my prayer list again and sometimes that puts me in a peaceful state and I get back to sleep. Right now I am doing some heavy focusing on a member of my women's support group who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer more than five years ago, who was given only months to live and who is having a scary setback now. I used to pray for comfort, strength, improvement and things like that. I have decided to pray for a miracle instead. Why not? I am picturing her absolutely recovering. She and her husband have no children, but they are active members of their church, and I believe she has lots of support there.

I can totally empathize, Debbie. Moving is very hard. Three years ago we moved from a farm into this house in April and had our daughter's wedding at the farm in May. That was a lot. The only thing harder than moving oneself is moving one's parents from a house into a condo. I did that the following year, two years ago. Yikes. I think those two stressful years took a lot out of me.

I agree, Odalys. The Superbowl was ruined by the rain. We didn't realize it started before 6:30, so we missed the opening. The half-time show was very disappointing, as were the ads. The only one I saw that I liked was the Budweiser one with the pseudo-Dalmatian. I always like the animal ads. My favorite ad character of all time is the Geiko gecko, and they don't play him as much as they used to. I would like to adopt him as my pet.

Speaking of pets, the receptionist at the physical therapist's office called me. She knows I am thinking of getting a dog, and she has to give up her one year-old Yorkie because she is moving in with her boyfriend and the landlord won't let them have pets. Should I? Yorkies are cute, but are they yappy? If I go and see this dog and don't like it, wouldn't that be insulting?

    Hmmmm.

Enough for now, I hope all my sisters have a good Monday.

    Love, Anna

    Hello my sisters,
Feeling much better everyday. I stayed at my mom's house for the whole week. It was very nice being there. My 10 year old was crying to go home the last night. As much as they like to go to grandma's 7 days was a little too much. I am getting around w/o the cane but keep it with me just in case. Stairs are hard to do.
My PET/CAT scan and head MRI are this Thursday. Please keep me in your prayers that we get some good results. We are so overdue for some good news. I go next Tuesday for the results. Not sure if I can wait that long.
LAT56 good to see you. Sorry for what you are going through.
Margerie, sorry to hear about your friend. He will continue to be in my prayers.
MaryLou, I am happy to hear good news from the bone scan.
Anna, glad you had a great visit with your daughter.
Odalys, I was thinking of your on Superbowl Sunday and the week leading up to it. Must have been very exciting in Miami. I can't believe it rained the whole game. We had the Superbowl party here and everyone but my mom was rooting for the Colts.
Deb,yes moving does stink especially when you have a little one running around under your feet. I remember being 5 months pregnant and having a 2 year old while packing.
Going to watch American Idol now. Hope you all have a great week!!!

    Love,

That sounds wonderful Anna. Good luck with the adoption.

I decided not to call and wait until Monday or Tuesday when my appt is. It was a long day yesterday and I am glad it is over. Honestly, I don't have a good feeling about this but then again when I have a good feeling it turned out bad. We just want to enjoy the weekend. My daughter Samantha's birthday party on Sunday. She turns 4 on Monday.
    Have a great weekend.

Deb, if you want to load some pictures , you can go to photobucket.com If you see a picture you like just click right and copy.

Then go to your pictures and right click paste and it will be there in a file. Then copy them into your photobucket files and your set. All you have to do is click the very last link and it will say copied. Then paste to our thread. Hope this helps.

It sounds harder than it is.
