Hello there,

After a long journey, I had a biopsy last week that came back BENIGN!! However, I was dx with Papillomatosis (multiple papillomas) and was recommende a surgical excision. They also recommended that I have a mammogram and ultrasound every 6 months. I'm 34 years old. I'm meeting with the breast surgeon next week. I don't have a lot of information about my multiple papillomas, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this. Depending on the size of the area of papillomas (associated with a 3.4 cm group of cysts), I'm considering a preventative mastectomy instead of “excision". I'll go with the surgeons recommendation.

Does anyone have experience with papillomatosis?

Thanks for reading

My biopsy of both breasts found papillomatosis / sclerosing adenosis on one side (excision recommended) and cancer on the other side (obviously that's got to go too). I'm 63 and will be asking for bilateral mastectomy without reconstruction. I want to continue my retirement traveling full time in the RV, not sitting in chemo / radiation / multiple reconstructive surgeries. As it is we'll be stuck here for the summer in the desert dealing with this.

I had extremely diffuse papillomatosis and after 7 biopsies in 3 surgeries, I made the decision to have bi-lateral mastectomies. This was 9 years ago and I have no regrets. I had multiple surgeries for reconstruction until it was really where I wanted everything to be. It is a difficult and individual decision to make. My family was all supportive throughout the entire process which is a big help.

Good luck in your decision and continued health journey.
